Re: where is the NIC located on the gx270 dell machine. ...
It the NIC circuitry is on the motherboard. You would have to be an expert with a soldering machine to remove the IC and replace it. I would purchase a $20. +/- NIC adapter to put in your PCI slot . And disable the on-board NIC in the CMOS by hitting F2 on boot up and go to the setup page.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it. Thanks, Joe

This is a self check for the monitor. This self test means that the monitor is not getting a signal from your computer. Have you installed any video cards in this computer?
If its onboard video meaning you never installed a video card then your video card is bad. Try purchasing a video card and installing it in the computer and your problem should be fixed. I hope this helps you. Any other questions feel free to ask thanks.
this is because there is fault in the ram . replace the ram and the problem will be fixed . basically in dell optiplex gx270 when ram do not work the system becomes blank . try to plug out the ram an plug in if system didn't work this time then you have to change the ram
A solid orange light, usually indicates an internal power problem but just in case try reseating the memory. Also its become a habit on a GX270 to check the capacitors to make sure they aren't bulging.
