Question about Westinghouse LCM-19v1 Monitor

Westinghouse LCM-19V7 powers on, but picture only stays for a sec

When I plug in the DVI cable the picture stays for a second or two then goes away, and the power light eventually turns to red and I get a "No signal Input" message.

When I plug in the regular VGA cable, I get the same second or two picture, but the power light stays green.

I just bought this monitor "as-is" on ebay and of course it is not truely "as-is". I have 2 others just like it and was hoping for a 3rd match.

Any suggestions?

Thanks i have this same problem and ordered the 5 capacitors that are required, i opened this thing up, and its clearly the caps. As far as unsoldering them, EASY! Put some more solder on the two points, then heat one side up at a time and dance the capacitor so it slowly wiggles out, just go back and forth the on the leads. as far as the excess solder left over, it helps to have desoldering braid, etc also found at radioshack! :)

Most likely the capacitors on the power board have failed. I had the same problem and replaced (2) 1000 mfd/25 volt and (3) 220 mfd/25volt capacitors. Problem fixed! I used Radio Shack #272-1032 and #272-1029 capacitors.

There might be a problem with the main board, which you can buy a replacement on EBay for ~$85 "Buy it now" from an EBay store. It would probably be a little tough to do if you aren't good at these sort of things. But, it's worth spending $85 and using a little more time, then $200 + for a new one. I would try and set up the TV from the menu first however, or check your computer's graphics settings depending on what is plugged in. Your computer might be displaying at too high of a frequency or too high of a resolution (max supported res. is 1440 x 900 for this model). Good luck

SOURCE: Westinghouse LCM-19V7 powers on, but picture only stays for a sec

It's probably bad capacitors on the power supply board. These monitors are notorious for having the electrolytic capacitors blow out; cheap components! I would suggest replacing the two 1000 mfd capacitors and the three 220 mfd capacitors with 35 volt components from Radio Shack. That fixed one of my LCM-19V7s but not a second one which seems to have some other power supply problem.

I have a Westinghouse LCM 19v7 monitor that stays on for a few seconds and picture goes off. I know about the capasitor replacement but there is another conponent that I need to replace. It is the pow

Hello,

That is the correct value. That resistor just gets very hot and discolors the PC board around where it is soldered. You should be able to remove all of the old solder and scrape the resistor leg to get it bright, resolder the leg to the copper pad and you should be good to go.

My monitor Westinghouse Mod# LCM-19v5

Hello,

The most common thing that causes no power or a blinking power light and no picture is a failure of the power supply board. The board can be repaired and the monitor will be as good as new. To repair the board you just need to replace a few parts called capacitors. Here is a link to repair information on the Westinghouse LCM-19V5

I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

Lcd-17v8 monitor power won't stay on. westinghouse monitor

If the monitor turns on and goes directly to sleep, or it powers on briefly and shows an image then goes black then the monitor is defective. The first is often an I/O panel issue inside of the monitor. The second is typically a lamp failure within the monitor.
A simple test would be to plug a different monitor into your computer or this monitor into another computer. If the monitor doesn't work on another computer or a different monitor works on the same computer then the monitor is the issue.
If the different monitor does not work on the same computer or this monitor does work on a different computer then something on the computer is to be suspected such as a driver issue or a faulty video card.
If you find the monitor is defective then you should dispose of it (assuming it is not under warranty) at a nearby recycling center and purchase a new monitor. I would suggest something by Acer, Samsung, Dell, HP, NEC, or Viewsonic. These brands cost a bit more, but have much better track records.

Tv picture goes out after about 4 seconds

Westinghouse has had major issues with their Variable voltage power supplies (power inverter). Unless you have the technical skills to delve into individual component testing I would suggest finding a different brand to purchase. NOTE: Stay away from Toshiba; it has the same problem!

At power up, screen flashes DVI, then screen displays "check source and connection" green light is lit for about 10 seconds and then monitor powers off.

Check the DVI cable and all the pins, try it with another PC to make sure you are not having the video card problem, also try using VGA port to see if it has the same problem. Post back what you find.

Screen goes black after fraction of a second

More likely to be bad capacitors in the power supply, see LCM-20V5 (almost the same chassis as used in LCM-19V5) example: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

Post back what you see insdie so we can guide you further.
