Question about Balance CM2019 19" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Creeping black pixel line.

I have an IC Power CM2019 monitor. Just the other day I noticed what looked like scatches on my monitor screen. Closer look it's in the pixels. Problem is that it's growing around the right side of the monitor. Don't know what it is or why. My system works fine, thought it was a diaplay adapter, but completely unhooked the monitor from the system still exsits. Any suggestions? Also can't seem to find a website for the manufacturer. Help!!!!!

I'm not so sure though. I mean it has gotten worse within the past 48hrs. Could it be anything else?

Hi mrtaz187,
Well it sounds like the monitor pixels are starting to fail. Once you notice the pixels starting to fail, you will probably notice that over time it get worse. I had the same problem on one of my monitors too. I think it's time to replace that monitor. On the good side, new monitors are relatively inexpensive. You might think about getting a name brand for your new monitor too as it will usually have a warranty for problems like this in the future.

Hope that helps,

Take care,
Michael

What does it mean by dead cells?

I assume this is related to your LCD monitor.
I think you mean dead pixels. The LCD monitor has tiny pixel elements, one for each red, blue, green color and each one of these colored pixels are turnes on by a transistor. When a transistor fails then the colored pixel it controls does not light up. This is a dead pixel and it shows up as a tiny black dot.
If the screen displays a blue screen, a dead blue pixel will appear as a tiny black dot in the blue screen.
You normally would not notice a few dead pixels unless they are grouped together.

LCD monitor have Vertical lines and black colour become greenish

normally the 19" resolution can support up to 1280*1024, but if it comes with vertical lines in full screen, it might indicate the panel is no longer to work and probably it's time to replace new one.

Re: Creeping black line

Hi mrtaz187 -
Well, the pixels can go bad on the LCD monitors and from what you are explaining, it certainly sounds like this is the case on your monitor. I wish that I had better news for you but the monitor will have to be replaced. Sorry. I know that Walmart has had these monitors on sale in the past and they have offered a 13 month warranty. If you could return it from where you bought it (under warranty), that would be the best solution... otherwise it will need to be replaced because usually the bad pixel problem grows worse over time.

Hope that helps,

Take care,
Michael

Lost the power cable

If this is a non standard type of power cord that cannot be localy purchased, look up the manufacture name using Google or Yahoo. Find their support page, and enquire about how to order a new cable.

CM2019 LCD MONITOR NO PICTURE

Sounds like an inverter problem. If the power supply is internal replace the capacitors coming out of the voltage regulators. These are usually 1000mf and/or 470mf. If that doesn't do the trick look up the numbers on the 8-pin chips that drive the secondary transformers on the inverter to see if they are getting the right voltages.
Good Luck!

Having a problem with my monitor

9 times out of 10, the vertical output IC I501 ( TDA1675 )and resistor R574 (1 ohm, 1 watt) are bad...The resistor opens up because Vert. IC has gone bad. IC doesn't get 30 volts from the power supply, hence , no vertical sweep....
