Kenmore Elite Dishwasher - leaks from Overfill Protection Float

My Kenmore Elite Dishwasher, model 665.13129K700 leaks from the overfill protection float. It is not consistant. It leaks about 4 out of every 5 washes. It drips from the switch underneath. The switch appears to move easily. Is it something I could fix myself, or should I call in the expensive repairman?

Same thing. Leaks from the Overfill Protection Float. Everything seems fine and the seal looked OK. Is there a way to remove it to check everything with a close inspection.

i have the same problem with Kenmore Elite. Leaks occasionally from flot valve. very annoying. Sears repairman came out and of course it did not leak while he was here. he said that we put too much detergent which causes foaming. since then we put barely any at all, less then tea spoon and it still leaks once in a while. if anyone knows solution, please help. the damn thing is just a few months old and was top of the line expensive model.

Same problem - I was able to partially mitigate the problem by slipping a small rubber o-ring (think faucet repair) around the bottom portion of the float, low enough so that it does not cause it to bind (it needs to move up & down to operate properly). It still leaks, but less than before. I also placed a small plastic continer under the leak to catch the water & keep it from soaking into the floor & adjoining cabinets.

I had the same problem, but mine leaked every time. I have a kenmore ultra wash dishwasher no. 665.15762. I took the bottom rotating sprayer off and found that the plastic piece under the sprayer had a few loose screws and the rubber gasket, under that piece, had blown out at the corner facing the overfill protection float. I took out all the screws and re-mounted the gasket in place and put all the screws back and tightened them. It solved the problem. I hope that this helps others.

I never replied back, but I too removed my gasket, cleaned around the seal, and replaced everything. It hasn't leaked since!

Door is leaking

The first thing I would check is the overfill protection float. Check under the float for objects that may keep the protector from moving up or down.

Clean light is flashing

please read your instruction manual and go the section troubleshooting
press down the overfill protection float on the floor of the dishwasher's tub in the right, front corner near the door. If it cannot move up and down freely, the "clean" light will flash.

To whom it may concern, I have a kenmore Elite dish washer. I have a gree light ( Clean ) flaching and it do not work when programming for washing. Can you help? What shuold I do ? Regards ! Michel S.

On the Kenmore 1312 dishwasher, the Clean light will flash with the following problems: a problem with the Overfill Protection Float, no water coming into the dishwasher, or suds/foam in the unit.

First check the float and see if it will move up and down freely. Push it down to release it. This float is at the front right of the dishwasher.

Next make sure that the water valve to the dishwasher is open and you have incoming water pressure. (If the water is blocked at the valve, the inlet valve can be replaced, if needed.)

Finally look to see if there are suds at the bottom of the washer. Check that the rinse aid compartment cover is secure. The arrow should point to Lock. Use dishwasher detergent in the correct amounts (see the package label). Using the wrong type of detergent or too much can cause the problem.

Most Kenmore appliance manuals are available from Manage My Life. Searching for your model will also give you a link to the matching parts diagram and ordering information from Sears Parts Direct. See http://www.managemylife.com/mmh/owner_manuals?intcmpMMHxG_HomexServices_Menu to search for your model. The model number is usually on the frame inside the door of the dishwasher.

I hope this helps.

It doesn't start and clean light flashes Kenmore Elite dishwasher water supply is turned on overfill protection float is able to move up and down freely there are no sudes in dishwasher soap dispenser...

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. If the clean light flashes, pauses, and then repeats. When the dishwasher doesn't sense a water temperature increase, it stops working and locks the functions (clean light flashes, all buttons are non responsive). It does this as a safety in case the element is broken and feeding electrical current into the water.

To resolve this you will have to reset the console. Do this by closing the door and press these buttons in sequence...

-high temp wash

-heated dry
-high temp wash
-heated dry

Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

I have a kenmore 17032 dishwasher. Lately, it has

The key is to not use the dishwasher as a garbage grinder.

I suggest that you witness the volume of water being discharged from the machine. If low volume, look inside for plugged screens.

Also, be sure to remove all food particles from the sprayer tips, which is not an easy task, get each and every piece, run machine and check again. then quit putting dirty plates in the machine, quick rinse = seriously better cleaning, and less unit maintenance.

ASKO 1385 not filling after overfill protection was turned on

If when turned on the dishwasher sounds like it is running the drain pump, and does this in any cycle setting, it is possible that the drain pan below the unit has filled with water. Check this post for more details.

The Pots Pans button flashes and won't let me change it

Go to your circuit breaker panel and turn off the circuit that feeds you dishwasher. Leave it off for three minutes. This will reset the program and should solve your problem.

Leaking?

I had this problem, our kenmore dw would leak maybe 1 out of 5 runs. found that the overfill float was so full of crud and calcium that it was weighing it down, and alowing too much water in - thus leaking out the top of the shaft of the float.
You must unlatch the float below the dw, very difficult, try a mirror, you also must remove the micro switch attached to the bottom of the float first. This fixed the problem!

Overfill Protection tripped on ASKO D3112 dishwasher

Remove the backpanel of the machine, and look if there is water at the bottom of the machine. If so, use a towel or so to dry up the water. This should solve the prob.
