new install-programs installed- two attempts - one professionally, brought home and still nothing, Hauppage recommended install again.Again as before requesting system disk which is not shipped with preinstalled xp-cisnet, so it is a hvr1600- which allows recording as well as viewing- thanks for any help

So, your trying to watch TV on your computer. I'm assuming you installed the provided software and have connected the card to local cable or antenna.

    What is not working.

I have wintv-hvr-1950 hauppage box which suddenly stopped showing light. all things are connected as always - computer/internet working fine -Windows 7 - WinTVV7 screen opens black on my monitor

Make sure the power supply is working. Quite often you get a pretty crappy power supply with USB devices, so that is what I would suspect. Its a 5 Volt supply, and should get a little warm if its working. I don\'t think this device will work without a power supply.

Those supplies are quite standard, so bring your old one to Fry\'s, MicroCenter, Radio Shack, Best Buy, or even Walmart or the other stores to compare Volts, Amps, and polarity/size of the plug to make sure you get one that will work.

HP Express Card Digital / Analog not working

First thing I tried to do was to install the drivers that came into the CD didn't work, just using mydvd9 the import/aqcuire option I could have some noise signal, but couldn't find a way to select channels and hanged after a while. This is too trickier, I thought, it should be a way to used quickplay and other applications.

I couldn't get anything from HP site so investigating I found the following.

1) Had to upgrade quickplay to latest version (is pretty cool btw)
2) The card internally is a Hauppage and found that is actually the HVR1500 http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/data_hvr1500.html.
Drivers + application can be downloaded at http://www.hauppauge.com/site/support/support_hvr1250.html

3) After upgrading quickplay and installing drivers and application from hauppage, Quick play had additionally an hp digital tv tuner entry, but here in canada there is no digital signal transmitted through antenna.
4) I have reinstalled manually the drivers that came in the CD, but from the c:\swsetup\HP Digital tv tuner folder
5) After this I had at quickplay a second source "Hp Analog Tv tuner" which allowed me to caputure the regular air signal and wintv worked as well

I'm sure that I did some redundant steps, but it worked and now can I have everything working (quickplay, wintv, digital, analog signals)

Hope this helps and btw I haev uploaded the manuals for thouse who can't get it, since HP doesn't have them in the website.

Cheers

WinTV-T-500 Pixelated screen.

Could be a Ram or Cpu issue. I had a similar problem with ocsasional pixelated picture & discovered my Ram was faulty ( due to overclocking). I replaced the Ram & that fixed the problem.
After another overclock attempt I started getting the same issue as before & realised this time that It was my Cpu causing the issue. By adding a little more voltage to my Cpu the problem was fixed.
This is just to illustrate that the Problem is likely to be a Ram or a Cpu issue, if all else fails. The tuners are heavilly reliant on Ram & Cpu, so any short falls in either can result in an imperfect picture.
Hope that helps...

Hvr1600 scheduler problem.

Scheduler window is cut off or to big to click on the Save or Cancel buttons? Please double check that your system display DPI settings are not over 96. Open the display properties of your system under control panel. Click on the settings tab and then advance. Look for DPI settings; make sure it's not over ninety-six. If it's over that bring it back to 96 and restart your computer.

On my PC when I scan for channels the screen goes blank and MS error report screen appears. Then send or don't send error. either one you get brought back to desktop screen. Happauge has closed

Apparently the drivers available on the Happauge install disk that you purchase are not the correct ones or are out of date.
Solution:- Visit the Happauge web site and stelect your TV tuner type and install latest.

Wintv stuttering when watch channel, but is fine when record it

Further update: Have downloaded SageTV, and it works fine with the Hauppage card. Is definitely a software problem. Have also tried total uninstall, reinstall, with same results. Also downloaded GBPVR, and it also worked with the card.
