Hi,garmin nuvi 660 has been working fine.

when i quick tap the power button i come to a screen which says quick settings- when i press on the red lock tab, it says my screen is locked and that i should press the power button. when i do this the gps goes off, and when i turn on again, i have the same problem.

Look near the SN # and press the reset button.

or

with the garmin off, hold down the right bottom of the screen and turn the garmin on, it will then ask you if you want to perform a hard reset. Choose yes and that should fix your problem.

Help me.......i put a pin number on my garmin nuvi 660..and i cant remember what it is...Is there any way to reset it and start over..

All you have to do it take the gps back to where you were when you entered the pin # . It will then start up and you can either change the pin or just set it to where you won't have one .
This is done so that when IDIOTS steal them , they can't do ANYTHING with them,

Touch screen doen't work

If there is a PIN assigned and the PIN can't be entered in because the touchscreen isn't working, then the PC will not recognize it. The communication routines between the Nuvi and PC will only happen after the PIN has been entered. If your at home, you will get to the main menu because that's your safe location where it will not ask for a PIN. The touchscreen is bad and needs to be replaced. Please see this link:

My garmin nuvi 670 touch screen is not calibrated

Have you tried using the screen calibration command? Press the Wrench symbol, then the Display symbol and then Calibrate screen. Press the dots as it tells you to and you should now have a calibrated touchscreen.

Buttons on screen jump around

Ok I have a few questions. When you mean it jumps around do you mean:

1. When you press a 3, the 3 button becomes a 7 graphically or
2. When you press a 3, the 7 button is highlighted and chosen.

The first thing I would do is try to recalibrate your touchscreen by pressing the wrench symbol, then the display icon and select calibrate screen. Press the series of dots as you are asked to do and see if that clears up your problem.

If that doesn't work, then I would do a reflash/ugrade of the firmware. Perhaps the firmware is corrupted. This can be done by dowloading Garmin's webupdater at www.garmin.com and connecting your Nuvi to your PC and letting the program reflash your firmware.

The last solution is to replace the touchscreen. Are you sure the screen is not cracked anywhere? A cracked screen will certainly cause a touchscreen to either not work or activate another button when pressed.

Garmin Nuvi 660 frozen screen

Don't know why it happens, but mine did the same thing. There's a reset button on the back, underneath where you lift up the antenna. Unplug the unit from the power source, push the reset button, reconnect to a power source and it should work fine; mine did. Good luck. Got this info from my Garmin owner's manual.

Try to recalibrate the screen. You could be touching the adjacent character since are you see is **** as you enter the PIN.

... Invalid PIN number

The PIN is an optional feature which should not pop up if the unit is brand new.  If you got it used, get the PIN from whoever sold it to you.

Hi can you help /

You can try a master reset. With the unit off hold your finger on the upper right hand corner of the touch screen and tap the power button.  Continue holding your finger on the screen until you see a message "This operation will erase all waypoints, do you want to continue?" (this could take up to a minute)

Tap yes and the unit should reboot then attempt to acquire satellites.

Garmin nuvi 660 forget my pin

The only options you have when it comes to a locked unit is to enter the correct PIN, go to the location where the PIN was set, or send the unit back to Garmin. There is no way to unlock a PIN locked unit without the correct PIN or location.
