Everything was working one day... and not the next. The audio is fine on my TV and it even changes with the channel, but there is no picture. Just a fuzzy black screen. I've tried everything, and now I have comcast coming to take a look at it. They think that there might have been a power surge that hit the tv killing the Video?? The DVD player works fine with the TV so why wouldn't the cable work??? Can someone please explain that to me?

You have the TV connected to the cable box with an HDMI cable, I'll bet. The problem is with the cable box. If you unplug the cable box and plug it back it it will reboot and proabably work. You should connect the cable box to the TV using component cables and you won't have this problem again.

What channel or setting is used on the TV to play a DVD?

Hi, Channel 3 or 4 might work for older TVs. Most new HDTV's have a mode setting in the menu. (Video 1 or 2 or 3) or (Component 1 or 2). On your remote you may have DVD button. Try all these suggestions, 1 of these will work. You can play with the remote too. Good luck.

My panasonic viera television is only displaying green...we can hear the programs but no picture, only green

It is my pleasure to guide you.

What is the source the you are watching, video or tv show?

If it is a video from a VCR/DVD player then you may have RCA cables problems.

1. Component video/audio requires five connections,
a. Three for video (green, blue and red) and
b. Two for audio (red and white).

Check to see if all of the cables hooked up properly? The cables are color coded but the red one is used for both video and audio so be careful.

2. Composite video/audio uses three connections,
a. One for video (yellow) and
b. Two for audio (red and white)

Check to see if all of the cables hooked up properly?

This will give you some where to start so

Good luck and please post back that you are successful, giving thumbs up, or that I can be more help.

Have connected cable (white, yellow, red) from Conia DVD player to TV as component 1 and connected Sony VHS cable (white, yellow, red) to TV as component 2. What other steps need to be taken for the...

component video needs Red, Green, Blue to be connected on the DVD end and to the TV for video to display, also the Red and White audio out needs to be connected to the TV for audio to work .
VHS has Red, White an yellow for Right Audio, Left Audio and video respectively.
You need to switch the inputs on the TV to the corresponding Component and Video inputs. Most TV's have a source or Input button to switch between the inputs. simply press the button until you have the input you are looking for.

Trying to hook up dvd player to a philips 27ps55-s121. I cant get it to show up on the tv screen. I dont know what channel the tv needs to be on to show the dvd. and i am unsure where what plug (cable)...

Connect one end of the VIDEO

jack on the back of the TV. Then connect
one end the AUDIO (red and
white) CABLES to the AV1 in AUDIO
L and R(left and right) jacks on the rear
of the TV. Connect the other end of the cables to the appropriate color on the DVD player (yellow to yellow etc.)

Press the CH + or – buttons on the
remote to scroll the channels until AV1
appears in the upper left corner of the
TV screen.
Slide the TV/VCR/ACC switch to
the VCR position.
Insert DVD into player and press PLAY.

How do i attach a dvd player to my tv

First, get a set of composite Video/audio cable, it will have Yellow (Video), Red (Right channel audio), White (Left channel audio) with RCA plugs at both ends.
You can choose AV1 input at the back of the TV, all you have to do is to match the RCA jacks on the back of the TV to the color of the RCA plugs, same for the connection at the DVD player.
Set the TV to AV1 and watch you DVD.

I have cable hooked up to my tv. Now I am trying to add dvd player, but nothing is showing up like I have it connected.

If you look at the rear panel, you will see the sticker showing AV1 and AV2 for the composite Video and Audio in.
Use AV1 inputs, just match the colors of the RCA JACKS at both ends of the cables, Yellow is for Video, Red is for Right channel audio, White is for Left channel audio. Just match the color. The using the remote to select AV1 then you can watch DVD. I have same model.

I am trying to get my pip to work to watch 2 games today. I went to pip set up it is on but i dont understand how to actually get the other channel to come up even pushing pip on remote doesnt do it.

Some TV can do PIP but it will require to have TWO tuners to watch two channels at once, most TV will have single tuner, but it will aloow you to do PIP, one showing what is on the tuner, another shows other video source, such as DVD.

Which channel do i put the tv on, and which do i put the dvd player on in order for them to work together? I have a sanyo flat screen tv and a sony dolby digital dvd player, and i don't know how to get...

You do not put your TV on any channel. DVD players need to connect to a TV with video cables and not a RF cable. This means 3 connection options on how your DVD player should connect to your TV. First, since your DVD player is NOT a bluray player, then HDMI connection is not needed. 2nd, the best choice would be component cables. These are the RED/GREEN/BLUE RCA connector that are on the back of your DVD player. They got into the input of your TV that has the RED/GREEN/BLUE RCA connectors. These are your video connector. Now, you need to connect the audio. Look for the RED/WHITE analog audio connectors out of your DVD player. Connector those to your AUDIO RED/WHITE input of the TV. Power on the DVD player and then power on your TV. Press the SOURCE or INPUT button on the remote for the TV until you see the DVD on the TV....The second option is the connect your DVD player up to your TV with composite video, YELLOW/RED/WHITE cable...

Vizio remote

The remotes for the TV and Direct TV box are universal remotes that can operate very basic functions for whatever else they are programmed to control. If you can program the TVs remote to operate the Direct TV box it will basically only control power and channel. Maybe something else, but not much. The same goes for the Direct TV remote. It will control basic functions on the TV; power, channel & volume. Best bet would be to purchase a universal remote that can learn functions from the original or just keep both remotes available by the TV.

PIP (Picture In Picture) - Your television should have the capability because it has two built in tuners. It can show two channels at the same time or show one channel and one video source (whatever is connected to the audio/video inputs). However, because you are using DTV (Direct TV) you are very limited because you are not using the built in tuners on your television. You should be able to see one picture from the DTV channel and one from lets say your DVD player. If your DTV box has two tuners built in then you should have the PIP capabilities from your DTV and not your television. I'm guessing your DTV is a single tuner (one satellite cable to your box). If you want to watch two different channels you'll need to either upgrade your box or attach another box to your television.

Option: you could also connect an antenna to your television this way you can use the PIP function. Obviously you'll only be able to view whatever local stations you can get with the antenna. Depending on where you live you might or might not have a lot of channels to choose from.
