Question about Logitech Harmony 890 LCD Remote Control
I have had a Harmony 890 for 9 months. I have my components in a cabinet (and the RF extender) and everthing has been working fine ever since I bought the remote. I love it. However, in the past 4 weeks, the remote has not been working consistently. I tried "updating" both the remote and extender to fix the problem but this did not work. After troubleshooting the problem for an hour, I have determined that the remote works just fine when the remote and extender are within 2 feet from each other (so no problem with the signal getting to the components once succesfully input into the extender), but as soon as I either (a) hide the extender in the cabinet or (b) try to use the remote > 2 feet away from the extender even in plain sight - the remote does not work. I recently installed an Apple Airport Express near the TV to play music wirelessly from my computer. Would this be the problem? I am pretty sure that I was having the problems with the remote before I installed the Airport Express. Any help woudl be appreciated.
Could be one of two reasons:
1. Interference : Try to remove the Apple Airport Express from the room and see if this makes a difference. If it does, then that is your problem.
2. Weak battery: It is possible that the battery is growing weak and will need to be replaced. you can get one from logitech here:
Hope that helps!
