Question about Garmin StreetPilot c340 GPS Receiver
I use the street pilot and it keeps saying battery low and then shots off
I borrowed my brother-in-law's c340 and it worked for 1/2 hour. I tried the reset but no improvement. He came over and found that the fuse was blown inside the tip of the plug. I had no idea that the tip of the plug could be unscrewed. the unit is now working again. Just another idea.....

These things sit on the dash in blistering heat, and get left in sub-zero weather in the winter. That's extreme for the battery! In addition to the weather, the age of your unit (you didn't mention) may come into play. I have had this happen on two units I have (one at home, one at work). Sounds like the battery is shot. I got two replacements from a company on Ebay. Just type in "c340 replacement battery". If you are handy it's not a big deal. I did not lose my favorites on either unit when I did this.
Another possibility is that the unit is not getting charged. I would check to see if when it is plugged in you get the screen message that that is occurring. You might not be getting a good connection somewhere from the 12v lighter socket to the cradle it sits in. There is a small fuse inside the tip of the plug. Hope some of this helps.
