Question about LG 52SX4D 52" HDTV
I have an LG DLP 5SX4D-UB...when turning it on the white light on the front panel flashes from bottom to top for several minutes. Then the top light goes to a solid red and the second light flashes red. The TV never turns on. The second light that is flashing has the picture of a light bulb on it. Does this mean that if I replace the bulb that the TV will work again. I've been reading several internet sites that have folks saying that they replaced the light and their TV still doesn't work. Any idea what the true problem would be? The TV is 3 years old.
Well i know what the problem is... if your getting the white scroll and then the red light flashes but the fans are comming on and you got a new bulb the broblem is the ballast. i know cuz i had the same problem and a good friend of mine has a tv shop and i had him look at it but the good news is that its not that hard to change. if you try to go through LG thay wont be able to sell you the ballast if your just a coust. good news is that you can fined the ballast on ebay from easywaylamps its about $130.00 bucks shiped. bad news about is that thay are from china(it is where i got mine) but it works great and hasent gave me a broblem yet. if any one eles has the same problem and it was something eles.... PLEASE POST IT. i hope my info has been helpful to someone.... thanks Brad Ross of East Moline Illinois... you can email me at email@example.com

I have the same problem but the thing is that I take out my bulb, put it back in and the TV will work fine for the next couple of times I turn it off and on. Then it iwill stop working and I have to do it over again. LG told me it was my bulb. But the thing is my bulb works fine for hours at a time until I turn off the TV.
