Question about Jenn-Air JCB2280HES Side by Side Refrigerator

1 Answer

Side-by-side won't come back on after power outage.

For the second time in a few months, we lost power here at the house after a storm. When the power came back on, the side-by-side didn't. The last time this happened, it eventually came back on after a couple of hours. Today, it has not. I turned the on/off switch a few times. I can't get behind it to unplug since it is a built in. Any suggestions?

Thx.

Thanks for getting back to me frcs68. The on/off switch is located above the unit behind a removable panel. The breaker had been flipped off, but I have already turned it back on to no avail. The unit most likely was zapped by a surge. I understand this is all too common since most of us don't put surge protectors on our kitchen built ins. Unfortunately, I can't get a repairman until next Monday! :-(

Hi Nick,
I would plug in a new start relay. The start relay is on the side of the compressor.
If the new relay still will not start the compressor then the compressor has been damage from the power outage.

We have a Samsung side by side RS2534WW, just had a brief power outage during a storm, now 1 light on the panel blinks, nothing else. Lights are on inside the fridge, but won't deliver ice or do anything....

I simply press and hold the top left and top right buttons (which are for the temp in each section) for about 5 seconds to reset. It's fine until the next power failure...and I don't want that when I'm on vacation.........

This sounds to me like a busted compressor, nothing more you can do to it. You must call a repairman to test it and replace it, a very delicate procedure that requires specialized equipment.

Frigidaire side-by-side stopped working

I would chech the components on the compressor. Take the cover off the compressor power terminals and inspect the relay for damage. The power outage is not a concern but the power surge could definately be the cause. hope this helps.

I had a power outage. After power was restored

Replace the adaptive defrost control part number 240375803. About $100.00.

It is located in the fresh food section on the top left side behind the plastic panel.

Whirlpool Gold Ice Maker Quit Working

IF THE FRIDGE IS COOLING AND FREEZING WITHOUT AND HASSLE THEN YOU DONT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH YOUR CONTROL BOARDS.ALSO IF THE WATER IS STILL COMING OUT THE WATER SIDE OF IT.YOU NEED TO LOCATE THE WATER VALVE AND CHECK IF THE VALVE TO THE ICE MAKER IS NOT BLOWN THAT MIGHT BE THE CAUSE OF THE FRIDGE NOT MAKING ICE.

GOOD LUCK.
