Have not had a problem as yet. I just received a PrimeFilm 1800u from a friend. The scanner was made before the VISTA I have was born. Is there a driver update I need before I proceed with the installation of the 2003 dated XP software that came with the scanner? thanks.

Check you vendor website if they already have driver for vista OS, if none you can still use XP driver unless your having problem with it.

Hi, I have the bearpaw 1200 flatbed scanner and I need a update version for our computer window vista. Is there a way to download the latest version for window vista? Please let me know sooner you can....

As of this moment, there are no Vista drivers on their website. An alternative you may want to try is to download the drivers for XP and run it in Compatibility mode for XP. If you don't know how to do that, let me know and I'll give you detailed instructions.

Second the Vuescan reco. That's what I use. OTOH, a dual boot machine with an XP partition can also solve the problem. A real PITA but feasible (I have one).

Canoscan FB1210U Updating drivers for Vista

Have you tried the latest XP drivers? If this scanner is based on an in-box driver like usbscan.sys, odds are it will work in Vista in spite of any installation warnings you might get. If the driver pack includes a setup program you may have to run it in XP SP2 compatibility mode.

Umax Astra 2200 scanner needing to run in Vista

Hi, The Umax Support/Download (http://www.umax.com/download/index.jsp) do not have any patch/updated drivers for your scanner compatible with Vista. If the only issue that you would downgrade your operating system back to XP is because of the canner, it may not be necessary. It is possible to dual both allowing you a choice of Vista or XP. This is better explained at (http://apcmag.com/5485/dualbooting_vista_and_xp). This way you will retain the use of the new features of Vista in your new computer and yet when necessary make use of your previous devices that will only run in XP. Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things turn out or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards.
