Question about HP PSC 2210 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Will not align

I have just replaced the colour cartridge on my printer and now it will not align.because it will not align i can not use any of the other things, ie; fax.i have read through the reference book and keep trying everything they say but still will not align.i hope someone can help me as i am pretty useless at all this stuff!

Thanks! Solution #2 worked great! I've had this printer for years and have never had alignment problems until recently. I thought I'd tried just about everything. The Black and White cartridge wouldn't allign. I held down the setup and options buttons during the initialization and it worked the first time. Thanks again.

    I tried solution #2 and it worked great. Thanks whoever came up with and for the clarification. I unplugged the printer for a few minutes, replugged it back in. Next, I held down the setup and options buttons. I received a message asking if I want to reset the defaults. If so, push start. I did so and everything is working great. Thanks!!! I've had my printer for three years without allignment problems. I'm happy to continue using it.

After multiple attempts of the above mentioned suggestions, it turned out to be the color cartridge needing replacement. Once I did that, it worked fine. Thanks!!!!!!

Solution #1 work great, could not beleive it worked so good and didn't cost anything.

I tried this and it worked. First, disconnect printer for about 5 seconds and then reconnect. Then hold down together "Setup" and ?ptions""buttons for two seconds. Then release. My problem was solved

Press 'setup' Then press 5 followed by press 3 Hopefully this will solve the problem

Well, I had the same problem and came here to find help. When I saw no response to your question I replaced my color cartridge with an new one and it solved the problem. If you just replace yours with a new one, I don't know what to do.

Hi Folks, Sorry to bother you but i have HP 2575 all in one for past 3 years,and until now had no problems..I recently changed my colour ink cartridge cos the old one indicating low toner and some colours...


Try to clean the cartridges by taking them out and trying aligning the cartridges again... try the alignment if you have any software named as image zone or solution center

Dell V305w Printer Alignment problem. Remove tape from cartridges or check troubleshooting. Press > to continue. Ink cartridges reset, tape removed, trays aligned. HELP!


In my case this happened with black cartridge out of ink, colour cartridge low; replaced black: had permanent alignment problem, though test print looked OK; wouldn't print black. Replaced colour cartridge, then it all worked OK, straightaway!

Even though you do not print in colour, your printer will still slowly but surely **** out the colour ink in your printer/fax machine. The unit does a thing called purging. this is a necessary part of the printer maintaining the print head in a printable condition. Everytime it does this it will **** a small amount of ink through the head, Including your colour inks. Over time the inks will empty even if you don't use the ink. All inkjet printers do this and there is not a thing you can do about it. If you want to use the printer, you will have no choice but to replace the colour cartridges.
As a suggestion, if you only ever use black then you would be far better off with a small laser fax. they start from about $350au and they will give you a better print in text and the cartridges will last about 10 times as long as the ink jet.

I changed the black ink cartridge as per instructions and the printer printed an alignment paper which i then placed in the printer for alignment but the alignment failed


the page should be absolutely new.and the scanner glass should be absolutely cleaned.and 1 main thing u replaced your black cartridge.but if your colour cartridge is empty it will not accept the allignment complete thing.it will show allignment failed as the particular colour is missing in your allignment sheet which is required to get the allignment complete.

Alignment failed notice


Could be one of two things....

1 - you may have bad cartridges...when the machine does an alignment it looks for specific marks on the paper...ie..green check marks before each line etc...if the correct marks are not there you will get an alignment failure...if the green check marks are there etc then you have a different problem...

2- spot sensor on the side of carriage is not working...this is the little blue/green light that comes on during alignment. Its what reads the markings on paper so if the markings are correctly there and you still get this error then the spot sensor needs to be replaced. Simple fix that u can do. We sell the spot sensor for $15

Change cartridge (color first) before doing anything.

Printer won't align cartridges


yes sometimes the even if the colour cartridge is not printing the necessary alignment pattern properly the printer is not able to read those pattern lines so it fails ur alignment.kindly try after replacing ur colour cartridge too.it should normally solve ur problem.

Hp psc 1610 alignment error


replace the colour cartridge aLSO AS IT NEEDS some specific colour to start this allignment and to complete but the colour is not getting printed so this error.
remove the cartridges from the printer.unplug the printer for some time.then again ON it and insert the cartridges and try .
sometimes it helps.

Aligning problem


You could try opening the HP toolbox should be under Start--> Control Panel--> Printers and Faxes. under properties os options. It will be something like that. Then print an alignment page put it in the scan section of the All In One as prompted and that should align it also under the setting there will be clean print nozzles. If this fails I would seriously consider just replacing the printer. There also explanations of this at www.hp.com
