I know it seems obvious, but sometimes over the summer people shut off their pilot light, and when relighting forget to move the pilot knob back to the "on" position after the pilot is going - check this first. Next, you can slide the switch on the Skytech 5301 receiver from "remote" to "on" and verify that it lights the burner. If it does, you may need to re-sync the remote to the receiver. If it does not, check to make sure your wires are nice and tight on the TH & TP/TH connections of the valve. If you are still having trouble, Skytech has a toll-free hotline for tech support on the 5301. It is: 1-888-672-8929 8am-5pm EST.
That is very odd. I've been in the hearth business for 15 years and have never been faced with this problem. Although, I suspect the remote receiver box is the is the culprit. To test this theory, turn the receiver box OFF. If you're unable to do that, remove the batteries from the receiver box and try operating the stove manually. If it then operates manually, it may be the reciever is wired incorrectly or the 3 position rocker switch on the stove, needs to be switched from Remote to ON. That would then override the remote receiver.
Hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.
Remote receivers are always a problem...I would get rid of that....you can work it manually with the on/off knob by jumpering the 2 contacts that the remote was using...or you can run 2 new wires from the same contacts and install either a switch on the wall or a thermostat...if the wires are burnt I would also check and make sure the Vent/chimney is functioning properly and not plugged before putting it back into operation
Sounds like you may have a similar problem that I have. I found a cable that attaches to the remote receiver melted to one of the gas pipes behind the panel. Poor design, should have been insulated. My heater just beeps, with red light flashing.
I just posted looking for the phone number for the company. Lost my manual, and need to contact them. Can anyone help?
