The excessive leaking is coming from the drawer where you load the detergent, not sure wether replacing the drawer would fix the problem or where to get a new drawer if that would indeed fix the problem?
No you should not need to spend any money on this . it sounds like the hose going from the back of the soap draw to the drum may be blocked just boil your kettle and pour it into the draw if this clears the blockage you wil see steam in the drum then put more hot water about another 2 kettles full down the draw and push the draw in and operate machine on the spin cycle. if the blockage is still there take off the lid you will see the hose from the back of the soap box and sqeeze it this should release the blockage

Use high efficiency detergent that s more concentrated.
It uses MUCH lesser detergent VoLUME than conventional.
The detergent has "He" letter on the bottle. And usually with FULl load it uses only about 150+-cc ( my cup is on 3marked level provided by the detergent bottle)
Hope this helps!
first make sure your detergent drawer is not popping open. water will run out from beneath the drawer, run over to the top of the door, run down the door, and then straight down to the floor. If you are not leaking out of the detergent drawer, the next thing down is the bottom of the glass door. look at the glass where it contacts the door seal at the bottom. It should be clean and smooth. Most likely you will find lint, hair, and soap residue. that needs to be cleaned off. any surface imperfections will cause a slow drip or trickle of water to come out of the lowest part of the door. If that is fine, and it is still leaking, open the cover to the drain pump on the bottom right of the front of the machine. Make sure that drain pump filter is tight. run the machine with that little drain access door open and see if you are leaking from there. If none of the above helps, and you are still getting water leaking from the door, miele has designed a new clamping ring for the door seal. Call them and make arrangements to have it replaced.
Are you sure it is coming from the detergent drawer? It could be from your inlet water valves. They are very easy to see. Two screws on the rear of the machine will let you slide the top back and expose the componets.
