Hi. my sierra optical drive will not mount to my e-64 emu sampler

I bought the drive to connect via scsi interface with my sampler but it will not register as connected. i have got the right optical disc [ 1.3 gb verbatim 5.25"] as recommended.i have got the correct drive setting [any drive number except 6],which is the sampler default setting.the scsi lead connections are sound.in my sampler manual it specifies using an m.o. drive to store data via scsi, so i have the correct hardware and connections and i am following all the manual procedures for installation. the only thing i havent got is the drive manual to refer to. maybe i have overlooked something which my sampler manual cannot tell me.i am aware also that something could be faulty, this was all bought as used. hope you can help ****.d thanks

    have
tested FWB's 'Hard Disk Toolkit' and it works fine with our optical
drives. The goal when using a Mac is trying to use as few inits as
possible. FWB's driver(s) can control many different devices such as
hard drives, Syquest-type drives, a variety of optical drives, etc.
Just make sure to remove the Pinnacle MO INIT from the Extensions
Folder prior to using another driver. Anubis driver from CharisMac is
    another good choice.

the Sierra can read and write 650MB
optical media. However, be aware that if the 650MB cartridge was
formatted and/or written to via another SCSI controller, it may not be
usable with your Sierra as different SCSI controllers handle media
differently. The only way to know for sure is to contact Pinnacle Micro
    Technical Support for assistance.

How to repair memory card

  1. Download and install a data recovery program. The first thing you want to do when you encounter a memory card error is to attempt to recover important files. There are a number of programs available to accomplish this. Photo Rec is a powerful, free option for most operating systems, but lacks a graphical user interface, which can be intimidating for less advanced users. Find the data recovery program you are most comfortable with in terms of price and features.

  2. 2
Insert the memory card into your computer's memory card reader. Use a USB card reader or connect your device to your computer via USB if your computer does not have a card reader.
    • Some devices require that you enable disk use via USB through its settings before your computer will recognize it.
  3. 3
Run your data recovery program. Follow the procedure to recover files for your data recovery program and recover what you can from your damaged memory card.

    • If you cannot tell which disk is your memory card, remove your card with this window open and note the drive that disappears. Remember to reinsert you card before continuing.

  • 4
Open Command Prompt. From your desktop, press ? Win+R to open the Run dialog. Enter cmd and click OK.

  • 5
Run Check Disk fix and recover. On Command Prompt, type chkdsk m: /r, where m: is the drive letter of your memory card, then press ? Enter to begin.
    • Depending on the errors found during this process, Check Disk may ask for your input in regards to what action it can take. When this occurs, answer "Yes" and press enter to continue.

Sony memory stick pro 128mb has docs on it I need. when i plug it in to laptop, it either doesn't register or says USB device not recognised. help!!!

I'm assuming the docs are important. What I would try to do is buy an external reader which cnnects via USB and hope that it is the port on the computer that is not working.
Sony MRW62E/S1/181: an external memory card reader/writer that can address 17 different memory card formats. It sports a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 interface and draws its power directly from the USB connection. The MRW62E/S1/181 can be connected to both Macintosh and Windows computers. Cost is around $30.

I have a 64-bit computer and install Vista 64-bit. When I open System Properties, it clearly shows it is a 64-bit Operating System. However, despite having 5GB RAM, only 3.5GB is usable. This is typical of...

although 64 bit vista supports upto 128gb of memory but you should check whether all of your memory modules(ram) are working properly or not to check this go to the system bios and check it there if all the memory modules are visble
sometimes the chipsets on our motherboards share the system memory due to which ram shoewn in the system properties is less than the actual that is connected

Always use the little icon by the clock, "safely remove hardware" before detaching

Last ditch effort if u really need those files:
try mounting it with linux. You can download a live CD, burn it and then reboot your PC and run the live CD to boot Linux you won't even have to format your PC.

I've had several external hard drives and flash drives that wouldn't mount in windows but did in Linux.
