Our Emerson MW9325SL microwave starts humming when we close the door. This micro is was purchased new on Jan 15th 2010.
You probably have a bad door switch, and maybe a secondary problem. I recommend it be checked.

It sounds like either a filter is clogged, an air vent in the back is blocked, or the internal cooling fan is not running.
We have a sound clip here of what a microwave should sound like when the cooling fan and high voltage section are working.
This overheating can happen if you put it in a cabinet or push it against a wall.

When door open the microwave should not work at all, if the turntable and light come on with the door open , if they do , then this is an additional problem with door switch and must be fixed.
Regarding humming noise and no heath, Test the high voltage capacitor,
the rectifier diode.or the magnetron.
If it additionally does not spin and no light, then check also the door switch.
The diode and capacitors can br tested. The capacitor must be allowed
discharge before testing, or you risk to get electrocuted, even if
power is off. Capacitors can get discharged by shorting their two
contacts.
Replace the magnetron if the checks and all of the high voltage component tests are good, but the unit still does not heat.

Parts must be tested to find out what is wrong.
Remember that microwaves are potentially dangerous devices if not repaired properly, the job must be done by a competent person.
A microwave energy leakage test must always be performed when the oven is serviced for any reason.

first you gotta detach the button plate ( the thing with all the buttons) using a flathead screwdriver .Keep pushing it is stuburn. It will pop back in when you are done. the fuse is behind that. just take it out and put the new one in.

Well your gonna have to take it down a take apart the microwave more than likely. Probably have a shorted HV diode,magnetron, shorted winding in HV transformer.burnt or frayed HV wire insulation
