Question about Xerox Phaser 7750DN Laser Printer
I'm trying to print a full bleed 8.5x11 document from InDesign and the printer crops the image to about .25 of an inch on three sides and a little more than half an inch on the other side. My settings in InDesign are 0 margins and print full bleed. I also testing from a full bleed Word doc, PDF, and Photoshop file and got the same results.
Anyone know how to fix this so I can print a full bleed? I can't figure out if it's the printers options or if maybe there's some settting on my computer that is making this happen. I'm running a Mac with 10.5.5.
You didn't mention paper size, so my apologies if you are using a sheet that will accommodate bleeds and just didn't mention it. This is the simple answer.
If you printing on 8.5 x 11 paper, you can't get a full bleed. You'll need to print on a larger paper size, like tabloid, and trim your 8.5 x 11 size out of that. There are no printers, even commercial offset printers, that can bleed an 8.5 x 11 design on an 8.5 x 11 sheet. There must be trim in order to get the bleed. it 'bleeds' off the edges of the design.
