You didn't indicate exact model of your phone. However I have indicated the procedure used for common Vtech's 5.8Ghz phones

Ringer volume
• With the handset or base in idle (off) mode, press MENU then
press ▲ or ▼ until RINGER VOLUME is shown
• Press SEL. You will hear a sample of the ringer
• Press ▲,▼ or a digit (0 through 6) You will hear a sample of
the new ringer volume and the volume bar will be increased or
decreased each time the setting is adjusted At the lowest setting
the ringer will be turned off and the display will show:
- OR -
• With the handset or base in idle (off) mode, press or of the
volume control will directly go to ringer volume menu
• Press ▲ or ▼ to adjust the ringer volume

Good Luck

This doesn\'t work, I manually set the ring volume to the lowest setting as as not to wake the baby, but on the next inbound call, the ringer is at full volume again! But when i check it on the handset, its low! These phones are the garbage!

Lower ringer volume

The procedure varies from model to model. Since you neglected to specify the model of your VTech 5.8GHz phone I can only suggest you enter it into the search box here to download a copy of the manual.

Welcome to FixYa!

Loud feedback when All-Page. Lower speaker volume does not fix.

We have the same phones in our office. The feedback happens with our phones if the handset is left on the base. Picking up the handset and speaking through it as if your are on a phone call during the page should solve the problem of the feedback. If not, you may want to look at your P.A. system settings.
