The problem is not to do with the deflection! it is still working if you are seeing a picture, it is the power supply for the convergence. it isn't working at this time. it is usually a smaller separate pcb
if this supply isn't working the picture looks wacked. rca's seldom have an issue with convergence and are made better than most you will notice the heat sinks for the convergence output that are discreet and will outlast many other brands that use chips.put a dvm on the output of the supply to confirm. if power is there then the seldom problematic outputs is to blame.

You have a bad flyback transformer. This is a common problem that eventually goes bad in the ITC 222 chassis. You have to get the model number with the code at the end of it after the /. And sometimes you must have the numbers from off the flyback itself. Try to contact MCM electronics for the flyback at 1-800-543-4330. First see if they can match it with the model number with the code after the /.

I have an RCA rear projection TV model # 052W25 that once on for about 30-45 min. the screen goes black. I do have sound just no picture. Could this be the bulb? Any suggestions? Thanks

If this is a chassis ITC 222 RCA, then you could have a bad solder connection under the deflection board (this is the board that has the transformer with the large red wire coming out). It's a pickle to turn upside down and has to be done carefully. It has plastic catches on the edges and center of the board. Unplug the ribbon cable to the right and unplug any wires that stop you from turning it upside down. Cold solder joints has to be looked for closely perferably with a magnifying glass. Solder suspected places with rosin core solder and electronic soldering iron.

How do you release the board with the flyback on it? I've released all of the connections and opened all of the plastic clips but can not slide it out.

There are a series of plastic fingers that secure the edges of the circuit board into the plastic chassis frame. There are also two plastic arms that extend up through the defection board which have to get depressed and then the board is lifted up and out of the plastic frame. This only applies to the ITC 222 and ITC 222A chassis televisions.

I cant find where to go to find the convergence option.. the manuel say's its under setup but on my tv thats not an option as it states in the pic can anyone tell me how to get in to convergence threw my...

That's a common problem with that model the auto convergence option would disappear from the setup menu. But it's a very easy and inexpensive repair that you can do yourself. You can get the RCA repair kit called the ITC 222 and ITC 222 A chassis convergence option missing repair kit. The kit contains the FL 231, DL 231, CL 030 and also has repair instructions on CD. Is $25 from www.tvrepairworld.com listed under their RCA repair kit category.

Rca r52wh74 - no auto convergance

The model number of your TV probably falls under the ITC-222 chassis design. Do a search based on that criteria and it should point you in the right direction. If I remember right, you need to replace FL231 on the deflector board though. Good luck
Dave.

RCA R52WH74 (ITC222A Chassis)

no the board that has the FL231 on is the ITC222 deflection board. The other board is above the chassis in a seperate frame that runs across the set the convergence power supply is the board on the left above the board where the fL231 is. Yes the ITC222 and ITC222A are the same chassis. As for the service manual that site should have the service manual under the thomson category as the ITC 222 chassis is actually a thomson chassis made for RCA.
