Oven element will not turn off

I have a Fridgedaire electric stove model # FEF352AWA. The element in the oven will not turn off. I have unplugged the stove and let sit for 15 minutes to try and reset it but it did not work. I no longer have the owners manual

Model FEF352AWA, I am having the same problem. The top element will not shut off and I have to turn the power off to the oven. F1 comes up on the display but the owners manual does not give you much information on what to do.

My oven did the same thing last night. I've found the error code F1 refers to the electronic clock control which is a circuit board. If you look for parts online you'll find these for $200 more or less but I found two sources for $144. Don't pay retail, look for the "street price." Sometimes you also need the "face plate" which runs around $25 more. We took ours apart and the two pieces seem to be stuck together so we've just ordered both parts for $166. repairclinic.com is one source, and appliancepartspros.com is another. The part number for the clock control is 316207620.

I'm sure you've found a fix by this time, but someone else may want this one. Good luck!

I just had someone come out to look at this problem. He said that the control board needs to be replaced and it would cost me about $400. He said that it's almost better to go out and buy a new oven.

My stove top works, but the oven does not. While preheating oven it gave a loud boom, everything went black in the oven and nothing worked!!

Sounds like you got an electrical short. Pull out the range, unplug it, and then check the electrical connections where the wires go into the range. If that's okay, then check the oven bake & broil elements. Also check the electrical connections to those elements. I'll bet you'll find one that shorted to the back of the oven.

Eaton viking imperial electric, stove oven door will not close completelty; circa 1996. are replacement hinges still availible?

To the owner of the Eaton Viking stove RS3028W-1, yes you CAN get replacement hinges!
I too, have this stove model (circa 1996) with exactly the same problem and I have spent the past 18 months looking for replacement oven hinges. I was very frustrated at the thought of having to throw out a stove that cooks and bakes wonderfully and has not needed any repairs till now and having to buy one of the new subpar ones that constantly need repairs. Plus you can't do canning on the new stoves and the few remaining coil models are extremely poorly made.
I have found 2 places that carry the hinges.
1. Reliable Parts, 1-800-663-6060. This company is located in Montrea (St. Leonard), Quebec.
2. Appliance Shark, 1-800-663-1176. This company is located in Barrie, Ontario.
The part number for the hinge is: 318-024-741

I hope this is helpful, and may you have many more years of happy cooking on this great stove.

My whirlpool electric stove not turning on

Make sure it is plugged in and you have power to your house. If everything is dead check your fusebox for blown fuses if you have circuit breakers reset the breaker for the stove by turning it off then back on. If the burners on the top work, but the oven won't you probably have a burned out bake element .To change this turn off power to the stove and unplug remove 2 or 3 screws holding the bake element and remove the wires to the element by loosing the screws on the terminals note sometimes bake elements plug in in this case just unplug. Reverse process to install. Reapply power and test.

The inside oven is not heating. The top burners are working fine.

If this is an electric oven, most likely the oven bake element has burnt out.
the model and serial number should be behind the bottom drawer,
most elements are held in with (2) 1/4 inch socket hex head screws.

Remember to unplug stove or shut off breaker before servicing.
The element can be slid out usually, then unplugged or remove
the back cover behind stove and unplug it from the wiring harness.
I hope this is useful

Faulty bake or broil element

The solution to this problem depends on whether the oven is electric or gas. Electric oven. If your electric oven's bake or broil element isn't working properly, either it isn't receiving electric power or the element or the oven control may need to be replaced. In many cases, the wiring to the elements can be burnt or broken. 1) Be sure the controls are set on the proper setting. 2) Be sure the stove is plugged in and/or check the circuit breaker or fuse that serves that circuit. 3) Call an appliance repairperson or replace the element yourself as follows. 4) Unplug the oven and let any hot parts cool. 5) Unscrew the mounting screws that secure the element bracket to the oven and pull out the element far enough to access its terminals. Note which wires are attached to each of the terminals, then disconnect the wires (pull off the wire clips or unscrew the wires). 6) Take the element to a parts dealer, along with your oven's model and serial number, and buy a replacement (preferably the manufacturer's suggested replacement part). 7) Reverse the process to reinstall. Gas oven. When a gas oven doesn't get hot, it generally means that it isn't receiving gas, the gas valve isn't distributing gas to the oven burner, or the ignition system -- either an electronic ignition or pilot light -- isn't working properly. A common problem with ovens that have a pilot light is that the pilot light has gone out. NOTE: Gas ranges younger than 10 years old have a sophisticated fault code system that governs their ignition. Always call an approved warranty service provider to handle problems with these ranges. Here's how to troubleshoot your range: 1) Be sure the controls are set on the proper setting. 2) Be sure the stove is plugged in and/or check the circuit breaker or fuse that serves that circuit. 3) Check the gas valve to be sure the gas supply is turned on (also make sure the house's main gas valve is turned on). 4) On a stove with a pilot light, make sure the pilot light is burning. If it isn't, re-light as discussed HERE, or in your owner's manual. 5) Adjust the pilot flame (older stoves only). 6) Turn off the gas and unplug the stove (or turn off its circuit at the electrical panel). 7) Clean out the oven burner ports, using a stiff wire. 8) Plug in the stove (or turn on its circuit) and turn the gas back on. Re-light the pilot (if it has one). 9) If the oven still doesn't work, call an appliance repairperson.
