Hi,

To my understanding, there is a on Volatile Ram in the Documax 3300 printers that would require to be reset. This page may give you error code interpretation, while here is FAQ for common faults and proposed corrective actions.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

    Hi again,

    Appreciate the direct "Ask Me".

    The RAM Map is
basically like the built-in memory of your mobile phone that holds your
personalized settings/configurations (profile). Like in some phones (and even computers - personal settings),
these settings from time to time do get mixed up. Doing a general reset
then removes these personalized settings but reverts the unit back to
    factory default.

    As outlined in here,
it is relatively easy to reset, however, an initial step is required so
that you could save your settings/configurations. An excerpt that
    addresses your concern:

    • You cannot do a default reset in the fashion as you
would an XL Series printer. If you desire to reset the Non Volatile Ram
in the Documax 3300 printers, you must first gain access to Menu
10.**Before resetting it you may need to be print the profile! To Print
      a Profile:

    1. Take the printer off-line

    2. Open the keypad door.

    3. Press the Feature UP key until "Print Profile" is displayed

    4. Press "Enter"

    • This will print the current profile only. You must
repeat the above steps for each profile, after closing the keypad door.

    • To clear the printer buffer and reset all features in
RAM, turn the printer off then turn it back on.

    • To reset all profiles to factory default, perform the following:

    1. Load paper into the printer

    2. Place the printer online

    3. Press and release the Profile key

    4. Press and release the Park key

    5. Open the keypad door and use the next menu key to scroll to menu 10.

    • Reset Printer NVM should be displayed. Press Enter.
You will have to set any features that you have changed from factory.

If the RAM will not reset, then it could only indicate that there is a
hardware fault or more specifically, the memory needs to be replaced.
While it would be still be possible to replace them yourself, might it
not be to your advantage to consult AMT Datasouth Tech Support at
800-476-2450, then 4 or 704-523-8500. The memories are available for
purchase from them and you could likewise ask for a quote. Should you
be considering performing a DIY (do-it-yourself), a guide has been published on the link I provided in your original post, specifically, "Documax Firmware and RAM Installation
    Instructions
    "

If I may inquire, you did an "Ask Me" on Nov. 11 where I believe the responses were adequate, were you not able to view them?

In any case, would appreciate updates of developments either here or there. Hope that your concern would be resolved.

    Cheers.

Unplug for a minute from the power source, and then replug and see if this helps. If not you may have to reinstall the driver - Uninstall the driver first, reboot PC, then reinstall.

The 4015 error means :No RAM found at RAM base address. This could indicate that you need to replace the RAM module.
You can contact DataSouth to purchase this module HERE.

THIS link will show you how to replace the RAM module.

Try first unplugging power cord for ten minutes, and see if this clears the error.

You get RAM map errors when one of the RAM module inside your printer does not pass the memory check.

Sometimes you clear the error just leaving the printer unplugged for a while.

If you still get the error, that means that the RAM module is really faulty, and must be replaced.

You do not need to have the logic board replaced, there are two RAM modules that must be replaced.

I report the link to ram replacement instructions here, it had already been posted before by the other experts:

What must be done is replacing the two ram modules in positions U25 and U18, see the instructions below, skipping the firmware replacement part:

    RAM Installation
    Instructions

If you have not done any similar job before, It is better having the operation done by a technician. The replacement is not a too difficult job, but there is always the risk to damage the new RAM or the Firmware modules that mount aside the RAM.

To buy the modules, ask HERE.

Blank Pages

The probability is that the new print server is either configured for a longer "page" than the cross match card.

There are different ways to fix this and it really depends on the application used to print the cards.

My first suggestion would be to fix the print server - followed by setting the page size in the application and finally configuring the form length for the profile you are using in the printer - the application settings usually take precedence over the other two, but I have found when using Windows server to drive the printer that Windows dictates the form size and a custom form may need to be created.

Documax 3300 printing problem

Start by running a test print from the control panel - with paper loaded, open the panel, press the "feature up" button - the display will say "run self test" and press enter - you should get a "barberpole" test print.

If the paper feeds properly in the self test, your problem lies in the print command, you need to send the appropriate LF character to tell the printer to feed the paper to the next line. You can also enable auto LF in the profile you are using, but this would not be my first choice.
