Question about GPS
How do I install new maps, Canada and US into the unit? I am unable to upload new maps to navigation system. Where can I locate the new maps available foe this?

Yes, this is possoble.
Make sure you:
- Have updated to last navcore v7 version
- Have updated TomTom Home to latest version
Then buy and upgrade map through TomTom Home...

Sounds like the tech support rep you talked to didn't even know his own device since the device uses Tele Atlas maps, not NAVTEQ. I'd call back asking to speak with a service manager who is more knowledgeable about returns/exchanges. As far as drivers go, those can be installed from the CD that came with the device

I have a Garmin as well. Updating your map is super easy. Just go to https://my.garmin.com/maps/updates.htm and enter your serial number. They will then provide you with a link to download new maps and instruction on how to install them.

Solution #1 is incorrect. Just bought on of these units at K-Mart the other day. The X3-03 uses NAVTEQ maps, it's even mentioned in the owners manual. Plus there is no CD software that comes with the unit. Plugging the unit into any PC just makes the PC make connect and disconnect alert sounds repeatedly until the unit is unplugged from the USB port. It never even asks where the driver files are.
I to contacted Nextar through email and asked about updates to the unit and maps. This was their response:

We are sorry, but there are no updates or upgrades for this product at this moment. We are currently working on updates but do not have a scheduled release date. When available, the update/upgrades will be posted on our website (listed below). For now, please do not use any upgrades other than Nextar upgrades, or the product will malfunction and your warranty will be voided.
