Did you remove all power and sata connections
restart your computer repeatedly tapping the f8 key to enter safe mode while the screen is black once in safe mode where the only things working will be your keyboard and mouse allowing you to attempt to repair your computer
you could select the option start at last known configuration that worked this will tell you if and what file has been corrupted or missing then you will know if its a hardware issue and
work your way through the problem
if the problem still persists f8 back into safe mode you might need to select your operating system to load into safe mode
click start control panel administration tools computer management in the left panel events + to expand then system you will see all errors in right panel right click select properties this will tell you what has occurred and the time it occurred
you might use the system restore to restore your system to an earlier time click start all programs accessories system tools you should see your system restore option if it is a hardware issue the system restore might not work
hope this helps you

SOURCE: Fitting New SATA Harddrive
Did you check to make sure the sata interface in the bios is on. Not the RAID, just the sata. In the bios settings you'll find it under "Intergrated Peripherals/IDE Device Configuration". Make sure you enable both SATA1/SATA2 and SATA3/SATA4 if your not sure what plug you have your drive plugged into. Good luck.
SOURCE: BIOS intermittently loses CDROM
Hi, first check that your RAM chips are seated firmly, then check the CPU fan for dust, then if you still have the problem try disconnecting the on/off switch wires that run from the case to the board, bridge the two pin out to mstart the computer and see if problem still exists. The final test I can offer is the power supply, If you can use a multimeter and test the voltage. Yellow =12v red=5v black=ground. If you get a variance of more than 2v replace the unit. Another way is to try a diferent power supply. Regards mistyman
SOURCE: SATA drive not detected in BIOS and windows does not boot up
0501 is the newest beta bios for that motherboard. 0211 is the newest non-beta bios, both from 2006 timeframe with the beta bios being Dec 15, 2006.
Do you have the motherboard manual? That should explain almost all your questions. If not the website address for download of manual is http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&model=K8V-MX
In some cases there will be jumpers on the motherboard to help with RAID issues, in other cases and with most of the more modern motherboards these issues are pretty much covered in the motherboard bios.
SOURCE: very slow system boot up and report for Express Gate error code C800002
What the error is telling you is there is an error on trying to install Express Gate. and best to install on a USB drive. If you must install it on the hard drive. you will have to set to IDE not AHCI or RAID mode. ExpressGate has to be installed on the SATA hard disk is connected to the red SATA port. (Other color slot can not be used)
SOURCE: installing windows xp on my SATA h.d. and setup program cant find
Lookup your Motherboards Brand and Model. Google to find the Brands website, as most brands have a download section. Look for a file in downloads for YOUR MODEL motherboard with a name along the lines of SATA RAID DRIVER, download it and follow the manufacturers instructions for using it. Most will want you to copy all the files inside the SATA RAID DRIVER zip file onto a floppy and when windows xp setup is loading at the bottom one of the first things it says is "Press F6 and insert the SATA RAID Driver floppy diskette you just made. Then you are allowed to select the required driver for your motherboards SATA chip. Allowing windows to know what settings to use to communicate and see your drive. Hope this helps.
