You need to take it to an authorized service center, here is a link to Harman Kardon website and you can find one near your home. If you do not do it this way, you will loose your warranty and then must pay for the repair yourself.

http://www.harmankardon.com/product_support/interstitial.aspx?Language=ENG&Region=USA&Country=US&sJump=service

You can copy and paste this link into your internet browsers address bar at the top of the browser, then hit "ENTER"

Then you must put the proper information in the boxes to find the right place to take it.

I hope this helps, and a FixYa! rating would be appreciated and appropriate. After all, it is the only reward we get for offering people like yourself this free help.

Let me know if you need any further help from me.

Pyle PPHP159WMU: Just received this used unit and the bass speaker tends to cut out the louder the volume is set. Does the battery have to be fully charged for the unit to function properly?

The speaker may have a current sensing device to avoid damage under high volume conditions. Also check the setting of your bass control. Every 3 db increase in setting doubles the power going to the driver and it is easy to over drive the unit at high volumes if your bass control is not on flat.

I need to turn up the bass on my denon amp

A few ways to get more bass here you go John.

If you have a sub check your level and crossover settings on sub and on amp, on the sub half volume and 90-120 crossover should be kicking,

Run a speaker level test on your denon and turn up sub channel.

if you want more bass in your speakers press the tone button on the front panal. for some i believe its in the menu system under parameter

Depending on what the source is you can turn up the bass on the source. aka ipod, some dvd players and what have you.

'protect' blinked and then no sound or display

Disconnect the outside speakers "at the speakers" then turn back on. If the problem persists, disconnect the speakers at the back of the receiver and try again. If the problem stops "at the receiver" check your terminals and make sure no braids are touching each other. If the problem stops when you disconnect at the speaker, chances are good it's a bad voice coil from moisture. Most "outdoor" speakers with a brand name on them have a pretty good warranty. Good speakers have a 10 year warranty and the manufacturer will replace. If you still have an issue, post a comment and I can help you some more

Is denon 1356 with active bass. and i want to know the difference between active bass and passive bass.

Hi....

A passive bass is a box with a sub-woofer in it.
An active bass is a box like that with an amplifier built in.

Hope that helps.

Check the Denon site too

I have a Holden Wasp XL base amp. 100 watt?? Quite old, 70's ish. CAn you tell me how many and what size speakers it will run. Thanks, Lance

hell yer, built in New Zealand... or Aussie, cant remember. Best sort of speaker box for bass is 4 x 10inch quad box. Next. a single 15 inch, or use both together. The head you have I think was more of a PA system than a bass amp, but will certainly do the job. So long as you are not trying to keep up with a Fender twin, or a Marshall stack. 100 watts don't go far for bass. I would go for the single 15 inch driver to more the most air.
