    Reseat the ink cratridges.

I cant access the ink catridges. the carraige holding the cartidges is stuck to the right, under the housing, and the cartidges are blocked

reset codes not working for canon i960 or canon s900

i960: as soon as printer is plugged in power light comes on. reset codes requires you to press resume before pressing power button, but power comes on immediately so this doesnt work. print head is stuck to the right (over waste pad?) and never moves. green light stays on for 4 seconds, blinks, then repeats. pressing and holding power button = blinking green light. playing with resume button while holding power button doesnt seem to do anything

s900: following reset directions gets me to serivce mode where you get 7 orange flashes follwed by a steady green light in a repeating pattern. following the reset code for the waste tank (pressing resume 4 times after entering service mode)

the tip on making the print head move doesnt help.

there are no paper jams or obstructions.

Hello mkingrei,

It seem the cartidges are stuck.

Try to open the printer and look for something blocking them, also try to gently manually push the cartidges from the side where they are to the middle of the printer.

Good luck,
Dahaka

This is a mechanical problem already with your printer and may require some part replacement, so it will be better if you can take it to a service center.........

Hi,

1) Power off printer
2) Hold RESUME button then press and hold POWER. (The beeper MAY sound once, or may not depending on your model. (http://canonresetter.fortunebisnis.com/))
3) Hold POWER and Release RESUME.
4) Press RESUME twice then release both POWER and RESUME buttons.
5) When the indicator lights steady, press RESUME 4 times
6) Press power to set data.
7) Print away!
For other codes for other printers and more info go here to this big forum (but try the above first) Fix Your Own Printer Generally many of Canon's models use exactly this same code, the i models use the same code, all the s models use the same code.

First disconnect the printer from the computer to isolate it.
Turn off printer and leave it for at least 5 minutes.
Check for any obstructions inside then power on the printer still disconnected from computer.
Reseat the ink cratridges.

A definite internal electronic failure since the reset codes did not any effect or restored the unit to normal operation.

I changed my ink and now it says cover open when its not and nothing will work now

The problem could be due to a communication failure between one of the printheads (cartridges) and the All-In One (AIO) or by a short in one if the printheads. Please follow the steps below to identify and fix cartridge issues:

  1. Make sure the printer is on.
  2. Open the printer cover. The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position, unless the All-In-One is busy. Note: If the carrier does not automatically move to the center, turn off the printer or unplug the printer from the power source and then carefully slide the carrier to the center.
  3. Remove both cartridges from the carrier.
  4. Close the printer cover.
  5. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - black box behind the printer where the power cord is plugged in to, and re-plug after 30 seconds.
  6. When the printer turns on, reinsert one cartridge first. Close the printer cover and check for any errors.
  7. If no error appears, reinsert the other cartridge. Close the printer cover.
  8. Replace whichever cartridge is causing the error to appear with a new genuine Lexmark cartridge. Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

Hello my printer wont work, the powerbutton is blinking and i hear a tikking noise. is mij printer broken?? lexmark x5250

It could an alignment problem, a paper jam, or something blocking the paper path. Open the printer cover and remove both the cartridges. While the cover is open, check the cartridge area for any obstructions in the cartridge carrier's path. Check any transparent strip(encoder strip) that has become loose from its position. If there's nothing out of the ordinary, close the cover. Unplug and replug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reinsert both cartridges and make sure they properly inserted and secured. Close the cover and try to print again.

How do I change the ink cartridge

Make sure the printer is on. Lift the scanner unit to access the cartridge area. The print cartridge carrier moves to the center and stops at the loading position. Grasp the tabs on the cartridge lids, and then lift the lids. Remove the used cartridges and install the new ones. Snap the lids closed and lower the scanner unit to close.
Sometimes the ink cartridge carrier won't position automatically to the center even when the printer is on and the cover is open. Just unplug the printer from the power source. With the cover open, hold the solid white strip and gently slide the carrier to the middle of the printer. Load the cartridges. Close the cover. Plug the printer back to power source.
Hope this helps. Thanks.

Every time I send a document to print, I get the message, "Paper Mismatch. Paper detected does not match paper size of type selected. Change paper and press OK on the hp officejet to continue...

When you print the document then select the size of the paper you want that to be print in. It will ask you when you print the document. It might be the case the default A4 size is set to other.
Try it might it can help you out.If not leave a comment will provide another solution.

Unable to access cartridges to replace one

Make sure the printer is on. Open the cover. The cartridge carrier should automatically move to the center for the loading position. Replace the cartridges then close the cover.
In some cases, the ink cartridge carrier won't position itself in the middle even when the printer is on and the cover is open. Just unplug the printer from the power source. With the cover open, hold the white tape in the middle inside the printer. The other end of it is connected to the carrier. Gently slide the carrier to the center. Load the cartridges. Close the cover. Plug the printer back to power source. Thanks.

It say carriage jam

Hi friend,

What probably happened is that paper jam caused the carraige alignment sensor to get out of place or to get covered, moved, etc and the printer doesn't know what to do...

What I would suggest trying is, unplug the printer, try pulling the carraige out to the center and then close it and plug it back in, see if this kicks it enough to reset itself.

Thanks,

The carraige is moved by a toothed rubber belt and plastic gears. Unplug the machine, open the front cover, and manually relocate the print carraige to the far right. Close the cover and plug machine back in. Hope this helps.

Lexmark X83 "Unlock Scanner" error

I had the same problem and the solution is this: There is a red lever switch by the power chord on the scanner/printer. Above this red lever switch is the drawing of a lock in the "locked" position and at the bottom this red lever switch is the drawing of a lock in the "opened (unlock)" position. The lever on the red switch should point to the "opened" lock symbol (unlock). It the switch lever is pointing to the "locked" position of the lock symbol, flip it to the "opened" position and recycle power on the scanner by removing the power chord for a 30 seconds. If the lever is pointing to the "unlock" lock symbol, flip it to the "locked" position and then back to the "unlocked" position and recycle power. Good luck!
