Question about HP Computers & Internet

1 Answer

My HP Pavilion computer m7667c makes a beeping noise when I try to turn it on. The monitor is black as well. I tried cleaning/vaccuuming all around CPU and power cords but that didn't help. My sons play online games on this computer and I'm wondering if they caused the problem. Thank you

Need to know how many beeps it's making. You can try removing the video card and reseating it, it may have gotten jossled around causing the card to not seat properly, this is unless you have built in video card on the motherboard.

Try a Hard reset!

1. Remove all connections from the computer including the power cable
2. Press and hold the power button for 20-30 seconds and then release
3. Only hook up the mouse, keyboard, monitor and power cable
4. Turn the computer

let me know what happens!

Boooting or start up beeping noise.

Have you made any hardware changes to your PC? I would suggest you attempt to start your PC in safe mode by pressing F10 during boot up and troubleshooting from there.

Hp pavilion a1220n comptur will not start unplugged unit and when i plugged to back in it would not start

Do you see anything on the monitor screen? Does the tower make any beeping noise or clicking noise, or does the fan tries to start up when you power the computer on? Are the cables connected properly?
If you see anything on the monitor screen, or if you hear a beeping sound, let us know so we can diagnose further.

My hp computer wont display picture and makes a beep noise when i turn it on

It should make one beep. That means it passed the self-test.
If there is nothing on the monitor (is the monitor light green or yellow?)
then the monitor is bad.
I suggest you try another monitor to be sure. Borrow one from a friend.

System crash--won't boot up

The intermittent beeping is the error code. It is important that you notice how many beeps your computer makes.
Then, you can go to the following link (from HP) http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=bph07107&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=71010&lang=en
and check what is wrong with your computer.

Anyway, you can always recover the information on your computer, but will have to take the hard disk out of the computer and plug it onto another as a secondary hard disk.

POST Beeps.

HP Beep codes are listed here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=bph07107&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=329076&dlc=en&lang=en None of them matches your description, so listen again and see if the pattern matches any described by HP. Have you tried the monitor on another computer? Did you connect to the onboard graphics connector? Look for any loose components, especially memory.
