Wellthat depends how old is the player. try only burned DVD - R (minus R) if not work, try burned DVD + R (plus R) if not.The device is too old.

Phillips dvd player will not recognise all dvd disc`s,will only play some dvd`s,and all cd`s.what coiuld be the problem?

The dvd's and cd's that aren't recognized might not be " finalized". Were they store bought or copied by someone with a dvd/cd burner ? When burning dvd's they need to be finalized so that other dvd players other than the one it was burned on can recognize them. Hope this helps.

Will not play blue ray disc

Hi

All u need to do is to visit the manufacturer website, you will see a link "download driver upgrade". Download this upgrade and store it in a flash (if your player has a usb port) or just burn it on an empty CD.

Insert the CD or flash drive into your player, the system recognizes the upgrade and automatically installs it..and you are good to go

Good luck

Hi, I bought Bose 3 2 1 SERIES 11 Home system. but i cannot play wedding dvds on my system. All hollywood movies plays ok. I tried Verbatim DVD R & DVD-R there is no picture but the sound is there....

I would say that as with many manufacturers, the Bose 3-2-1 is meant to play Dual Layer DVDs. Since they hold data on 2 separate layers of the disc, these hold twice the amount of data than the Dvd+r or -r that you're using. When the Bose system tries to read the 2 layers and only finds one it, will not recognize the dvd. If you don't have a Dual-Layer burner and Dual Layer discs to burn to, you should upgrade your burning equipment. They're not that expensive these days. Cheers!

The latest upgrade is ver 1.9. It is a downloadable ISO in zip file format. Samsung recommends Nero to burn this. Burn this to a CD-R not a DVD. I also suggest burning at a slow speed... IE 10x and trying high quality media IE .... Verbatim. 90% of the problems are related to poor quality media or too high a burn speed. This disk has to be highly accurate for it to work correctly. I've updated over 40 of these particular players.

Unlocking LG DR787T

The LG DR787T will recognize CD-R media, and CD-RW for updating its firmware. Do not use DVD media. You have to copy the update to disc. There are instructions on the LG website on how to upgrade using CD media. Search for the file: "2_SoftwareUpdate.pdf"

Firmwae upgrade & dvd's don't play on other players

You can download the firmware and burn it to a CD, not a DVD. I don't know what burning software you are using put with Nero you would choose to burn it as an ISO, This is standardized way of burning identical images of CD/DVD. You should be able to then put the burned CD with the updated firmware into the unit and it should automatically update. You can watch the TV screen and see if it prompts you for any info but I do not believe that it will. Good Luck.

SAMSUNG DVD R120 error EC:0207

I had exactly the same problem -- error message of "This disc can be neither played nor recorded. Please check the disk [EC:0207]" after the machine had been working fine for a year. I downloaded the latest firmware from the Samsung website, burned it to a CD-R disk (took three tries until the DVD Recorder recognized the disk -- worked when I used Rocio CD Creater software), then loaded the firmware updates to the DVD Recorder. On the Samsung website you can retrive the firmware update instructions as well. I had to perform the firmware upgrade several times until it successfully updated both the system firmware as well as the disk firmware. After successfully updating both, the Recorder now recognizes the DVD-R disks and I was able to resume recording. I have however, noted some choppiness with the playback of the newly recorded disks. Other than that, the firmware upgrade successfully resolved the problem.

Samsung dvd recorder model vr-325

Ok I have been here before. The problem is your DVD burner in your DVD player unit may not be burning the disk in a format recognized by the Computer, or the laser may not have burned the disk to the set standard, and while it can play on that DVD player when you move it to a nother player it will not play. Well what we can do is Test the reverse first. Burn a DVD on your computer and try to play it on your DVD player and on the other TV. Then what I want you to do is to clean the lens of the player and try to burn a disk and play it on your computer. Let me know how this truns out.

Disk won't play in DVD player

She does not have DVD Authoring Software on her computer. Yes, she can make DVD's but they are more like DATA DVD's. They play on a computer but not on a DVD Player.

I had to buy the $300.00 Nero DVD Burning software upgrade for my OEM installed basic DVD Burning Computer Program.

The DVD Authoring Software lets you burn video on the DVD and at the end it Finalizes it and that puts an index on the DVD that can be used in a DVD.
