Question about Canon DR-2580C Path-Through Scanner
I recently purchased the Canon DR-2580C printer (used) and installed the latest drivers to my PC running XP Media Edition system software. The computer recognizes the scanner, initializes through both Photoshop and Acrobat using Twain. I receive proper dialog boxes until I actually select and click on "Scan". Immediately I get a Scanner Error messages "Error in Shading position (-4431)" It stops the scan process...and absent the original manual, I'm at a loss as to what to do to resolve this. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance for your help. Is there a place to puchase a User's guide or owners manual for this scanner? That would be helpful too.
The issue at hand here is a sensor error. Cut the power to the machine for at least five seconds. Then reboot the scanner and the sensors should reboot. This solved the problem for us. Good luck to you.

If the scanners keeps blinking while powering on, it is because it has not been intialised. Check for loose shreds of paper in the paper path. Unless the scanner intialises, it cannot scan. If simpel 'countonly' option works, then the scanner is okay.
