I hooked up my new acer p191w to my dell laptop 1525.HELP!

I hooked up my new acer p191w monitor to my dell inspiron 1525 laptop ,at first everything was fine i followed the instructions to a T.Then yesterday i did a virus scan on my computer and it was late and i shut the monitor off manually and left the laptop on and went to bed. When i woke up there was no image on my acer monitor.I tried everything that i could think of to fix it,i shut everything down and undid the cables and started over that didnt work. The monitor does work when i turn it on the blue power light comes on and the acer start screen shows for a few seconds then the orange light comes on and it says no signal. When i first hooked it up and turned on my computer it gave me the option of how i wanted to veiw the monitor and i chose the mirror veiw where the same image is displayed on both computer and monitor.I just want to get back to do that again.I cant return it to circut city i lost the reciept. Thanks a million in advance, all and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure what the problem is, but I would suggest pressing the Fn+F5? There is a function key that toggles from dual screen, just the laptop screen or just the monitor. Hope that helps..

I Have a Dell Inspiron 1525 and tried to add a 21.5" Dell Monitor. The color on the monitor was purplish, and even talking with the service techs, couldn't resolve the problem. They sent a second...

Your laptop's video circuit is integrated into the system board (motherboard). There is no VGA card. Try using a different VGA cable, if no go, then your motherboard has a problem.

Display problem with Dell Inspiron 537

If it displays nothing at all through the boot process it's either the cable or the VGA card. It may be that the computer has gone into hibernate as it was left on overnight. Try pressing and holding the powerr button.

I have an Inspiron 1525 Notebook and I turn it on and it starts like it is suppose to and then Right before I get to my sign on page it goes to a blank gray screen, What could be wrong

it could be corrupt windows or your resolution in windows was set to high that your monitor does not support or you may have installed the wrong video driver or if you have daul video outs the secondary may be enebled thru windows causing the monitor on laprop to turn off thinking its on ext video!

Acer P191W smears all objects

brianfh01, Hi, I'm louie12fix. Can't say we will be able to fix, but we can try some different things. Will P191W do same stuff if connected to different PC? Did it work (perform perfectly) one day, and then act like junk the next day? Did you check with ACER about warranty service?? Are you using this unit for business or home? Can you, or did you connect different monitor to the pc that the P191W was connected? I certainly would be trully ********** if a 4month old monitor didn't perform to specification. Did you buy it locally or online? If local, maybe the store will swap it out for you. Bye for now. Get back to me at louie12fix on fixya or lmistyrel @aim.com
