Question about Philips 55PW9363 55" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
I bought this TV used and got about 4 months use out of it. First I noticed that the picture would drop out intermittently when watching cable. I switched to using the VCR to input the cable and that kept us up and running about another week. Sometimes when turned on it would take for ever to warm up and show picture. Sound was never a problem. One day, no more picture, didn't matter from where. There was a popping noise that would occasionally occur before the picture went all the way out. Not like a string of pops but like 1 pop. I took the back cover off and noticed that somebody had been in there before I got the TV. Nothing looks burnt. The picture bulbs do not light up.
If you have any ideas about what needs replaced or adjusted, I am very handy and want to fix this myself.
SOURCE: No sound and no picture.
Look for the vertical output, it should be a 7 pin transistor located on the defection board, meaning the board with the highvoltage transformer on it. Should be on a heat shield standing up(black)

Sounds like your convergence chips are shorted which would make the set shut down. Its also possible that the flyback has failed but because the first symptom was the 3d look I would start with the convergence repair.
Here are some of the most common symptoms.
Screen looks 3D
One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
Screen is bowed in but stationary.
No audio or video - typicaly occurs after having the distorted color problems listed above.
You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kit for your exact model. The kit includes a photo instruction guide, original Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, etc. Everything you need to fix it yourself.
Hope this helps,

unplug power supply. remove back panel and locate where the power wires attach to the board. there should be a fuse there. remove and replace. also check for other fuses they might be blown too
