How can I get the Backlights for a Norcent Technologies LCD Monitor Lm730

What is the problem with monitor?
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Cd player

Hello duval00143,

All you need is a 12V power supply. Just connect the car receiver power and accessory leads to the 12V + output and the ground from the receiver to 12V - output. Connect your speakers normally.

Many online electronics parts suppliers have such power supplies. Or you can get one from your local Radio Shack. If you have an old computer somewhere, you can use the power supply from it.

Hope this helps.

Can a 12V 3.5A lcd monitor be replaced with a 12V 4.15A power supply?

Yes that will not create any problems as long as the voltage and plug polarity is correct. Look for the polarity diagram on the power supply, or in the manual and make sure!

No power cord for monitor

Any local repair shop can give you one or sell you one for like 2 bucks. If you pay more then 5 bucks your getting ripped off. Also if you ever had an old computer setup before and have wires laying around one of those power wires should work just fine. Its a universal.

The socket for the AC power supply is located RIGHT ON the cord that plugs into your tower/graphics card. I just bought one today at the thrift store, ** power cord, but was looking for the input myself and found it there. Hope that helps.

Signal out of range

Hi, these monitors are dropping like flys and it's due to power supply problems. There is a power supply that needs to supply 5v, 12v, 24v. The 5v and 12v is for the logic boards and the 24v is for the back light. On other boards people have tried to repair the supplies with no luck (same here).
The best fix is to purchase two power bricks off of ebay. Get one that supply 5v 12v that are used forexternal hard drive2_bing.gif enclosures and get one 24v that is used for mac g4 laptops2_bing.gif. Both can be had for < $10. Then you will have to replace the internal power supply with these. This is not for the beginner, but if you have any experience with soldering and wiring you should be able to do it. You will have to tap into the 12,5 volt wires, I used the PC style power 4 pin connections and attached the other end to the power supply. You will also have to do this for the 24 v lines. A bit of cutting / stripping, soldering and getting the AC to both will do the job.
The only thing that this will not do is shut of the 24 v supply during idle. Best this is to remove power from the monitor when not in use. This should fix an no / power / on then off / problems with this monitor.
Total time is probably about 2 hours and tools needed are the replacement power bricks, cutters, soldering iron, solder, electrical tape, screw driver... etc
