Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
Does the PS3 use the same laser to read the DVDs as it uses for the Blu-Ray/PS3 games? I posted is someone else post about my problem but if these are to separt lasers then it would must likely solve my problem. I can play DVDs all day but I can't play any PS3 games. I have a 60gig PS3. I am thinking of taking it in to the local shop for repair but I am also confident that I can fix the eye if that is the problem.
The blue ray laser has two high energy beams at 450nm(bluelight) and 730nm (redlight). the highpower diode on your machine im afraid has failed. you need to install a new laser ..only 100 i charge or 160 from sony (150+TAX 2 week wait)
Now if you have the newer model laser KES410ACA, then you have 2 SEPARATE light sources...these tend not to fail as often
