I have a Acer Aspire 6920 laptop with the Cine Dash Media Console. It is no longer responding to touch. It is showing the volume is at its highest setting and the light indicator is on mute when actually the laptop is not like that at all.

I had the same problem with my acer 8920 but I needed to keep the battery out for about an hour and then everything was good!

Wilsonalbany (and all others with this problem),

There is a trick to resetting the CineDash. Remove all power (turn it off and remove the battery) for more than 10 seconds.

That gives it a sort of manual reboot.

*Should* get you back gliding in no time…

Booting problem

You may have to boot from a CD and make a repair.
Once logged in the CD, choose repair option (Recovery Console), and type these three commands:
1) fixmbr (wait til it finishes)
2) fixboot (wait...)
3) CHKDSK (this will take longer than the previous two.
Your laptop may now boot normally. I think your laptop doesn't have an internal CD-ROM so you may use an external USB CD.

Above the keyboard is a row of four buttons: Wi-Fi on/off, volume up, volume down, and Bluetooth on/off. This model does not include Bluetooth...

The above is from a review on CNET for your model of laptop, the complete review can be read here:

Acer Aspire 4315

This unit has no touch button volume control.

A touch button volume control is a feature most users fail to ask about before purchasing.

Acer removed the touch button volume control feature for power users who do not require a touch button volume control.

Consider yourself as of the elite power users of the world and a proud owner of the Acer Aspire 4315

How to use the CineDashMediaConsole on a ACER Aspire 8920

Every now and then, the CineDash media console on the Aspire Gemstone Blue models freezes, turns off, refuses to work, leaves you in locked out of the car in the pouring rain… The causes are endless, but the solution is quite simple.

To reset the CineDash, remove the power cable AND the battery for more than ten seconds.

Tadaa!

Acer 6920. no hdmi output. error code 0122

The Acer 6920 cannot show a movie on both screens at the same time. You must choose one or the other (the TV or the Laptop screen) NOT both.

I have an acer aspire 6920 laptop.the cinedash media console isnt responding

Functions are activated by simply tapping
the function with your finger, while you can adjust volume by sliding your
finger around the volume meter.
CineDash reacts on commands with a little “lag”, if you use it carefully you can expect no problems, but for nonchalant usage CineDash will not react on every touch. You also have to make sure that it's turned on for it to work.
