I have a Acer Aspire 6920 laptop with the Cine Dash Media Console. It is no longer responding to touch. It is showing the volume is at its highest setting and the light indicator is on mute when actually the laptop is not like that at all.

Wilsonalbany (and all others with this problem),

There is a trick to resetting the CineDash. Remove all power (turn it off and remove the battery) for more than 10 seconds.

That gives it a sort of manual reboot.

*Should* get you back gliding in no time…

I think I have managed to solve this problem

POWER ON THE LAPTOP

whilst its booting up, you can use the FOLLOWING KEYS TO see picture on the screen:

FN + F6

Whilst its booting, also HIT F2, once your in the bios

Go to:

EXIT > LOAD SETUP DEFAULTS

EXIT SAVING CHANGES > SELECT YES

It should then reboot and ... now its working...SO FAR.

After doing this, the screen stays on, operating system loads up fine.

And I have done approx 10 restarts and also approx 5 power downs and then power on.

Hope this helps

Hey Sum1 can help me , My Cine dash wnt work :S

The information on the previous posing can be misleading please ignore that. Here is how you can really fix your problem. what you need to do is click on start then right click on computer and select manage once the window opens select device manager and a list will come up on the main screen. Go down the list and expand the keyboards selection and there should be a listing called launch manager. Double click on it and on the properties window click on drivers and it will give you several options, click on uninstall and go through the list if it asks you if you want to uninstall click yes. now that its uninstalled go to support.acer.com click on driver downloads, select notebook, then aspire, and finally 6920. then under the list you can select your operating system, be sure to pick your operating system e.g. windows vista home premium x32. then click on application scroll down and download launch manager. Restart your computer install launch manager and restart again. Congrats your media center counsel should work!

Acer Aspire 6920 touch volume not working

aright what you gotta do is open up the "launch manager" which enables all the buttons found on the multimedia area plus else where to work perfectly. this even lets you program which applications you want to have when you press the other buttons

Hmmm just found solution to the cine dash volume control problem.
You need to shut your laptop down. Remove the battery for 10 secs. Replace battery. Boot up and all should be okay.
I have tried this on mine and it worked fine. If this does not work straight away someone else said something about LaunchManager but I didn't have to do that so can't give any info on that.

Functions are activated by simply tapping
the function with your finger, while you can adjust volume by sliding your
finger around the volume meter.
CineDash reacts on commands with a little “lag”, if you use it carefully you can expect no problems, but for nonchalant usage CineDash will not react on every touch. You also have to make sure that it's turned on for it to work.
