The plug going into the phone was not secure. Once it was fully plugged in it was operational. I was making a big problem out of a little one. I thought in cleaning the phone without unplugging it first I somehow messed with the programming. I was wrong. Thanks for trying to help.

When I pick up the receiver of my Lucent Partner 18D, it defaults to Line 4. How do I reset it so it will pick up Line 1?

Changing prime line access on a Partner system is done on either ext 10 or 11.
At one of those ext's press the feature key and "00"
Next press the left hand intercom twice
The display should say system programming

Press the right hand intercom once. The display should say Centralized Programming.

Enter in the extension number that you want to program.

Press ** then the lines in the order you want to access them.
press ** when your done the line access
Press feature "00" to logout

Lucent Partner 34D phone system with 18D extensions

That doesn't sound good at all. I would first try powering down the system and waiting about 15 seconds or so before powering back up. If the problem remains, the processor was some how damagedand would be best if it was looked at by your vendor.

Transferring

Since you're asking this question in the Partner 18 category, I'm guessing it's a Partner phone.

1. Transfer from a system phone is done by pressing the TRANSFER button and either dialing the 2 digit extension or the DSS button programmed for that phone.

2. Transfer from a single line phone is by flashing the hookswitch (FLASH) button and dialing the 2 digit extension.

3. Transfer into voice mail is done by programming a button or pressing FEATURE 14 and the 2 digit extension.

Change voicemail

You are talking the auto attendant that picks up when someone calls in to the system and no one answers?

Which model voicemail is it. It will TELL you when you dial in to check your voicemail, ...."Welcome to Partner messaging" or welcome to partner mail" or "welcome to Partner voice messaging"

enter the line number (01, 02, 03, 04, etc)
Press the Keypad for the ring style you want (1-8)
