Samsung HL-T6756 DLP TV Standby/temp light flashing and tv won't come on. I have replaced the lamp and the fan is working. Any suggestions?

After I replaced the lamp the tv worked for about two hours. Now when I hit the power button, the green timer light comes on for a second and the standby/timer light just keeps flashing

I removed the lamp and looked at the color wheel (with a mirror) thru the hole and it looks intact. It does not seem to make any unusual noises. Also I replaced the lamp with a new Phillips bulb and housing, not generic. Any suggestions?

It is always possible new lamp is bad--make sure the switch located on rear where you remove back cover is engaged (switch with lever to prevent set from operation with back removed) and look to see if lamp fires for even a few seconds when set is turned on.

If I unplug the set and plug it back in, it will turn on (lamp will come on & both fans will run) but shut back off in about 5 seconds. That happens with the back cover on and also with the cover off while holding in the blue switch. I also reinstalled the original lamp and it too comes on for 5 seconds but only if I unplug the tv first. Should I remove and inspect the color wheel or try something else?

Remove lamp and inspect the color wheel to see if missing pieces or shattered---it will also just before failing give a high pitched or fan like sound and if running too slow or not at all instant shutdown happens.

Its also possible if you bought a GENERIC bulb--and used original cartridge the new lamp is bad.

SOURCE: No picture on a Samsung HL-P4663W, trouble lights confusing...

The most common blink code for the Standby/Temp LED is the Temp Sensor and or Actuator Board. You can confirm which on by jumping the CN106 connector on the Actuator board. If the set works now, the Temp Sensor must be replaced. If it doesn't work, the Actuator Board would need to be replaced. If you are not familiar with the chassis or electronics at all , I do not recommend trying to fix it, call a professional. Don't take the chance of damaging it further.
I hope this helps,

you have the same problem I have. The problem is fixed by changing the new light bulb. The problem appears again after 1500 hours of use. You can keep buying new light bulbs or avoid it by not buying another Samsung TV.

SOURCE: WILL NOT POWER ON, STANDBY, LED, TIMER LIGHTS ARE BLINKING.

Check the capacitors on the power supply first. If any have domed tops or signs of leakage, replace them. I had two go bad on mine. Call electronics parts supply stores first as these are not your average capacitors.

The color wheel needs replacing. Thats causing the whining and it will also make the lamp light blink.

Please Help. I have a 56" DLP Samsung and the lights just flash

Sounds like the lamp might be burned out. The Lamp should be replaced every couple years. If they are not replaced they will eventually burn out. Replacement is not that difficult and just requires a screwdriver. The lamp is located at the back of the DLP TV on the left side. The lamp can be purchased online from Samsung for about $130 dollars. You might be able to find a aftermarket one for less. Just use your telivision's model number located on the right side of the TV on sticker to cross reference the bulb that is needed or there might be a sticker on the back at the lamp housing that has the lamp part number. And make sure to spend the extra money and get the Lamp with the housing together. You can buy just the lamp for cheaper but that will require you to remove the old lamp from the housing and they are fragile. Much easier installation with the housing/lamp combo.

I own a Samsung HL-R5067W 50'' DLP. Set is about 3 years old. Recently I heard a loud pop while viewing, picture distorted, but never went blank. I turned set off. When turned on again a loud whining noise...

Check your color wheel. There is a DIY guide for replacing the color wheel. Mine did the same thing yours is and my color wheel was all busted up. Unfortunately after replacing the color wheel my set continues to do the same thing, but this could mean I need to replace the ballast as well.
