thanks for your reply. I do not switch-on off myself but this happens due to power supply fluctuations??

Hello sunil vashis, This is a common flaw in this product i suggest not turning it on and off as frequent. Linksys is adressing this issue but they will probebly just have you upgrade to the 802.11n which is a more stable faster model.  If this doesn't answer your problem please post again.
Please post what you do and how you did it. I look forward to your posts.

    heh,
lets see, what i would suggest doing is purchasing a battery backup if you experience frequent power outages. 802.11n is a new router yes but soo worth it. I love mine everything downloads noticably faster.

As for driver updates, you should be able to go to a place like http://www.driver-updates.net/?k=Linksys...

which was a result of typing in google "linksys g update", this should help, please continue to post if you have more questions.

i look forward to your posts

Have been using WRT160N for 2 years with PC and laptop; suddenly can no longer access Internet from laptop though it is connected to the network. Server admin suggested asking router experts...

I recommend you RESET the Linksys bacl to the default settings and reconfigure the Linksys.
To reset the Linksys back to the default settings - Press and hold the pinhole RESET button at the back of therouter with the power ON for 20 secs. then release the RESET button.
To connect to your wireless router, the router's wireless settings needs to beconfigured with the SSID, encryption etc. and also the wireless cards in allthe laptops/computers needs to be configured with these router's wirelesssettings. Then the laptops/desktop computers can communicate with your wirelessrouter.
Connect a LAN cable from the Linksys to the LAN port on your computer.
Open a browser and enter the Linksys configuration URL
http://192.168.1.1
The default login = admin
The default PW = admin
You can protect your router by changing the default PW (write it down and putit in a safe place)
Go to the wireless configuration and set up the SSID and WPA or WPA2encryption.
Apply these settings to the wireless card in your laptop/computer.

I have a PC running windows 7 connected to the internet via Verizon dhl but whenever I try to connect a wrt54g router I lose the internet connection even though the modem appears to be working with all...

I had the same Linksys router, and the same issue as well. I continually reset it. Resetting the router would provide better connectivity to my laptop, but it would fail all to soon. I wound up switching routers, and the issue was resolved. I would recommend that you rest the router and see if that helps. If not, then I would recommend a new router.

Problem with the Linksys WRT300N Wireless Router No wireless light on router.

No wireless light on your router is a sign that something can be wrong with it, this can be a configuration problem or a hardware/software issue on your router.
The first thing that we can do here to correct the issue is to do a reset on the router and then after that the wireless light back back ON, to reset the router press and hold the reset button of it using a pen or paper clip for 10 seconds while power is ON and then power off and power on the router and check if all the lights are back including the wireless. Then once everything is OK you can now reconfigure the router like running the setup disc.

4.Once the power light is steady then perform the steps 1-3 for 2 more times.
5.If the wireless light still shows off, then kindly get in touch with the Linksys technical support centre.

1. the power supply to the unit has a malfunction.
the power light should be green to say that the unit is getting proper voltage if you see no light then the power supply is probably not working
If router is under warranty has manufacturer send a new one to you.
2. Try unplugging the router first for 30 second to a minute to see if your unit will restore if not a new unit is needed.

I have a linksys wrt54g2 router, whenever i connect my wifi enabled phone on it the wlan light keeps going on and off when its supposed to just blink quickly, i cant connect my phone to my router help...

This model has issues with the firmware.
firmware is the software of the router.
Upgrading the software may resolve the issue ( no 100 % guaranty )
First upgrade the firmware of the router.
Download the firmware from www.linksys.com/download .
open the router set up page.
upgrade the firmware of the router.
After upgrading the firmware, reset the router for 30 seconds.
unplug the power and plug it back in. wait for a minute and reconfigure the router.
once you reset the router, you will loose all the settings of the router and you will need to reconfigure it.
For PSP, you will need to open certain ports on the router. Also reduce the MTU on the router.
For all these settings , you will need to open the router set up page.

After successful instn of my linksys wireless router i cannot access to wireless online connection

Whenever you connect a different device to the cable/DSL modem the modem itself must be reset. Dont even waste a phone call to linksys. Its useless.

If you are using DSL depending on your ISP you may have to enter your account info into the router's PPoE section

Cable users should have the router set to "Obtain IP aadress automatically"

Use the reset button on the back of the router and start from scratch.
Unplug the cable/DSL modem power
Hook up your router WAN/Internet to the Cable/DSL modem Ethernet/LAN jack
Power on the Cable/DSL Modem first, wait about a minute, then power on the router.
