Check your Video connection from dvd player to TV.
Check your DVD player and see if you need to "activate" your video source or not by going to the setup menu.
Check your TV input to be sure you have switch the video input from your remote or manually on the tv.
Lastly, try another video input behind the tv,maybe your first video input does not work.
If you try both video inputs behind the tv, you might consider using a different video cable, you might have a defective video input UNLESS you are using HDMI cable, then nothing of the above steps will applied!

TV HAS NO SOUND I'VE TRIED UNPLUGGING CHANGED STB DVD PLAYER OUT TO DIFFERENT OUTPUT

No sound could mean the cable is bad, or the video board is malfunctioning.

Do you have sound for any device like a DVD player or anything like that?

Try the HDMI?

Hooking up a dvd player

Hi, either you have the yellow (video) cable in the wrong place on the back of the tv or your not switching the tv to video input 1,or 2 etc. check that your cables are coming from video and audio OUT of the dvd player to video IN on the back of your tv. Be advised there are video IN`s and video OUTS on the back of your tv, you must attatch to video input 1,or 3, 4 etc.and then go to the front of the tv and push the input or source button on your remote until you see the dvd which should already be playing so you`ll see it if you go bye that input, gl, video-tek

DVD Player not working

Go to menu. Select inputs. Assign input 1(or whatever input you connectedthe dvd to) as DVD. Then exit menu. Press the input key, scroll over to DVD. I reccomend using a component cable with a digital audio cable, if you do not have a DVD player that has an HDMI connection. You will find that a blu-ray player will be much more satisfying for the television you have. Basically by hooking up that old dvd player to that tv, is the same as hooking an 8-track to a $2,000.00 stereo. It will work, but the quality is going to suffer! Good luck, and believe me. It is worth the extra money to get a blu-ray player. It will play all your old dvd's and blu-rays. That way you are getting the full potential of your set.

the easy way is RCA cables..Plug the video out of the dvd into the video input of the t/v...then plug the audio -right & left out of the dvd into the audio input of the t/v...For a great picture use an S-video cable from the dvd to the t/v BUT thats just for the picture not the sound. you still need rca cables for sound
