Auto helm Raymarine ST 1000+ failure. Where having it fixed?

Brand new bought over net from raymarine installed in a 24' one ton sailboat, worked a few hours in a very light sea sailing conditions and stopped.
Went "crazy" and won't steer the boat properly anymore. Has no guarantee overseas selling.
Where to have it fixed?
Thank you.

I once experienced the pilot going crazy - steering opposite to the way it was supposed to. There is a setting that you can program in, to REVERSE the "sense" of the pilot. If this has been accidentally adjusted, it will cause it to misbehave. I adjusted it once, and all was good. I haven't got he manual with me, but read it, and make the adjustment - should take less than 5 minutes when you have the instructions. I hope that this is all that's wrong with it.

i had face with similar trouble

I went to RayMarine Web site and got an ecopy of the manual. Inside there is a 3D Blow up of the inner workings of the Auto Pilot. There are a couple of shear pins inside on the clutch lever. It shows you how to disassemble the auto and replace the shear pins. Total cost was $0.20. It works GREAT now. No more problems. I was also was able to give the inner working a good cleaning and lube. I have a soft copy of the manual if you need it

You cannot just reprogram your Raymarine to european standard.

This radio has been built and is licenced for using with USA frequency, in Europe his use will be limited to lower bands with no modification.

To be fully adapted to higher bands, the radio must be taken apart, and you need to bridge a contact on the main board.

The use of the radio after modifacion won't be legal in Europe.

St4000 auto pilot makes 180 degree turn for no good reasonn

It has been a while since I set up my auto pilot, but Raymarine has a very good set of on-line manuals and it would be a good idea to go through the setup procedure again. There is a sensitivity setting that adjusts the responsiveness of the AP in relation to changes in the helm. If it is set too sensitive, the AP will make big changes when the helm slightly moves.

Raymarine st 1000 displays 1000 (flashing and beeps) and the actuating rod will not move

Have the same problem, sick and tired of it. It is 18 month old, had repaired once 2 months ago by raymarine, some soldered joints came undone on the board, not working again! Used it 4 times since new out of probably 20 attempts. Every time I try to use some new problem raises. Possibly just my luck. Just ordered a new Navico st 32 heard it is better unit.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but your unit will have to be sent to Raymarine for this one.

My Ray Marine ST 1000 auto tiller pilot started setting stuck, but not consistantly. the shaft just vibrates in some spots but does not move. what could be the probable cause?

the worm gear that is inside the unit may need to lubricated,, remove the bottom case and lubricate gears and shaft with a teflon or silicone based lube. also on my sailboat when this happened I found that I needed to re-calibrate the unit - take the boat out into a very calm and open water and ' spin the boat ' in CAL mode ( this will re-orientate the internal compass ).
have fun on the water and have a great night,

My Raymarine ST6001+ says no signal. All other instuments are getting good GPS signal. I have have changed compass but nothing changed. I have a Course Computer 400 as the main autopilot controller. Can...

if the ST 6001 shows "no data" and alarms, the course computer is most likely bad. Control head failure is very uncommon, hower you should look at the brain box (T400) and move the control head to the other seatalk terminal (there are two) you may have just one failed SeaTalk port and can use it as is, otherwise, Raymarine will still fix (this week) 847-746-0100
