Question about Panasonic TH-42PD50U 42 in. Plasma EDTV

Open Question

42'' Panasonic Plasma TV - outdoor use?

Northern California temperate climate
Climate - 40 - 80 degree year round range, relatively low humidity
Location - outdoor living area protected 2 sides with roof.
My thought is to mount on wall with articulating arm and cover with insulated zippered cover when not in use.
I have researched and found Sunbrite outdoor televisions which advertise they function in an Arctic hurricane - they are $5000+ and I don't have inclimate conditions.
Thoughts on my plan? Will the television be harmed or short out in these conditions?
Any alternative ideas?

check the speaker/s. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If needy, replace this board as card basis. Panasonic 42 tcp42x3 plasma tv turns off after 5 minutes solid red ligh no blinking will turn back on if I unplug and plug back in but off in 5 mins again

The fact if unplugged etc and tries to function means a micro related problem---if unplugging all units for a while does not change this then suspect a power supply or main board (controls all functions).

Why won't my Panasonic 42 TCP42S30 42 Plasma TV turn on.

Switch off TV, switch off power, remove plug and wait for 48 hours and retry.
If problem persists, I suggest it is better to refer it to a qualified service
technician, since the back cover has to be opened for investigation/rectification.

Tv got wet at screen from rain..moved tv to car from screen has colored lines visco tv hdtv

Water has penetrated the various layers of protective film and will be next to impossible to correct! You can only try to put tv in a warmer than normal environment and wait for some time and check each day. Perhaps under or near a heat duct if you are living in northern climate. Or some type of controled heat source not over 100 degrees and not closer than 12 inches from screen.

Intermittent problem with "heatsink" on an AKAI LCT2701TD TV

Cleaning out the guts of a plasma TV is beneficial if temporary. Accumulations of dust that tends to hold moisture are not good for any device that uses higher voltages.
A heatsink is not a working part, it is a device to dissipate hate caused by and active component such as a transistor or high powered diode or integrated circuit. They are generally made of extruded aluminum and can be of about any shape as long as there is radiating surface available.
Your climate is not an easy one for many different kinds of electronics and it may be necessary to position a fan behind your set if it is consistently running too hot. There isn't much else you can do if it is a heat related problem.
