Open Question

Marquesas II 56'' outdoor fan does not work; light does

I installed the fan purchased from Home Depot. It worked just fine twice but then the fan just stopped - light still operates. Home Depot is out of stock and product is discontinued.
I would like help troubleshooting fan switch/motor and info on finding parts. Unfortunately, I tossed the box and did not register warranty.

SOURCE: Ceiling fan does not reverse with remote

Just reporting that I called Hampton Bay about the remote not working to reverse the fan. I was told that I needed to have the fan running on low and then press reverse on the remote control. If that doesn't work, customer service told me to press reverse while running the fan on medium. (Some fans are set to reverse on low and others on medium.) Nowhere in the manual is this addressed. I had been pressing reverse with the fan turned off, which seemed to me a logical thing to do. Live and learn.

SOURCE: Ceiling Fan Light Switch stopped working

I was able to resolve the problem. It turned out that the light fixture part that I had received from the associate at The Home Depot was the wrong one. I needed a 3 speed not a 2 speed replacement part. However, I ended up not even needing that. Once I took the fan apart and watched it malfunction, I could see that the clear part holding the fixture rope on my older fan had another circular piece in the center that had become loose but had not fallen out. I simply used a very small piece of blue paint tape to seal back in place. Since the area doesn't get hot, I found this to be a suitable solution. Thanks for your help.

I brought our aire fan at Home Depot last week. I installed yesterday. The fan is working fine but the light is not on. My fan is 56" Tidal Breeze LED distressed KOA. Please help

Hi Wendy:
I have found that Home Depot have been excellent at trying to ensure customer satisfaction.
My recommendation to you is that since this is a very recent purchase, you contact Home Depot. Customer Service Department as soon as possible. Request and record the name of the person that you are talking to, explain the problem, and ask how they can correct it. If there is not a simple fix, they will usually promptly replace a defective item.

Hunter fan switch doesn't work

I had this same problem. Home Depot and Hunter did not help me. I called Ken's Electronics in Kalamazoo Michigan Phone (269) 345-4609
website He was excellent and very knowledgeable. Got repair part for about $7.00 and received it within two days. Great. I was so frustrated because it looks like I was going to have to purchase and install a whole new fan. Started to wonder if Home Depot and Hunter did this on purpose. Call Ken and he can help with questions and installation too.

Fan works fine, but lights blinked twice and not do not work. Seems as thought the switch that you pull for turning the lights on / off does not click as it should

You're absolutely correct! Its pretty common with those fans. You have a bad switch. You can usually pick those up at your convenience hardware store, such as a Home Depot, Lowes, etc. Make sure you turn the wall switch off for that light before changing the light switch. Good Luck, and if there's any problems, feel free to contact me again. Jim

Fan & lights doesnt work

If you can find the exact fan at Home Depot, purchase it and return the lemon that you have. I cannot find a hampton bay website. Home Depot apparently buys these directly from overseas manufacturers, so there is no "company" to contact for real support. I had no luck finding my capacitor C61 E185116. Stick with the big names like Hunter in the future. Believe it or not, I received a free trim ring for mine about five years after purchase because it kept falling onto the body. Now that is world-class support!

Marquesas II by hampton bay, won't work

Your best bet would be to take the fan back to the store buy a new one and try again if the problem is the same its the way you are connecting the wires sometimes you need to add 3 wire to black (hot) to get the light and the fan to work.
