I noiticed a post you had put out back in april to someone with a similar problem. This dryer was purchased in 05 and is out of warranty, but still relatively new, so I'd really like to keep the cost down and do it myself. If you could help, I'd really appreciate it.

There are 3 ways i know to make the machine work. Press and try all buttons to see if it clears up, Put a heating pad over the display for a few minutes. if these don't work. You will need a new display unit. Hope this helps.
www.scribd.com/.../Maytag-Neptune-MAH3000AWW-Service-Manual Please use these service manuals, above and below to help you locate your issue, inside these manuals are all diagrams etc. www.servicematters.com/maytag_library/docs/16010061.pdf
You should get a diagram of your dryer *(look on the exterior back panel and under the top lid to see if they put a sticker diagram there.
Your heating element can be shorted open so no heat can be made.
You can easily check the element with continuity meter to see if it's broken. Then, check the part number from the Maytag website and price up a replacement. I would also check Ebay if the unti is older and you want to save some money on the part.
Good luck and be careful...always do your continuity checks with unit unplugged.
