Maytag neptune dryer putting out no heat

I noiticed a post you had put out back in april to someone with a similar problem.  This dryer was purchased in 05 and is out of warranty, but still relatively new, so I'd really like to keep the cost down and do it myself.  If you could help, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks DB

It's electric.  I think I found the problem though.  I ordered a fuse and thermostat and replaced the fuse and it seems to have solved the problem.  I still have the thermostat but didn't install it.

Maytag Neptune Dryer purchased in 2001, Display shows 88, wont start . Can it be fixed?

There are 3 ways i know to make the machine work. Press and try all buttons to see if it clears up, Put a heating pad over the display for a few minutes. if these don't work. You will need a new display unit.
Hope this helps.

I need to locate the heating element in my Maytag MDE5500AYW Dryer. I had the front pulled off and could see the drum etc. But could not easily find the heating element and I am afraid to take off too much...

Maytag neptune electric dryer MDE5500AYQ not getting hot

You should get a diagram of your dryer *(look on the exterior back panel and under the top lid to see if they put a sticker diagram there.

Your heating element can be shorted open so no heat can be made.

You can easily check the element with continuity meter to see if it's broken. Then, check the part number from the Maytag website and price up a replacement. I would also check Ebay if the unti is older and you want to save some money on the part.

Good luck and be careful...always do your continuity checks with unit unplugged.

Matag NeptuneDryer MD5500AWW - intermittent heat - not drying

this is joyce
It is as you guessed your sensor. it is usually located in door but some models are in back of machine on inside, go online download document papers go to maytag.com put in model# and then download your model # and it will show you where your sensor is located, it should be simple to replace. I had the same problem with my dryer.
I am glad you said you checked the dryer lines because if these get clogged up they will cause the dryer not to dry the clothes correctley. very smart....if you need me to help let me know.

thanks,

joyce
