Question about Dell PowerVault 110T LTO-2 Ultrium Tape Drive
Error light blinks constantly and the Status light is on. I have cycled power on it several times and it still reverts to the same status. It does this with or without a tape inserted. Any ideas?
I have 15 of these, and have had this happen 3 times (2 of them in brand new servers).
The first thing to try is updating the firmware (you can download it from the Dell site).
If that does not fix it, the next step is replacement.
In the 3 times I had it happen, that was the fix (we tried a number of different things previous).
Seems there was a long series of these drives being bad, replacement was the only cure.
If it's out of warranty, you may want to try contacting Ultrium.
