I was trying to print from my pc when the printer made a horrible crunching noise and 'died'. It will not light up or perform any tasks. In your opinion is it going to work again ? If so, how can I make it work again ? thanks, Sandra

Re: hp2210 not working
Hi Sandraedavis -
As an HP certified tech myself, as I hear that you had a crunching noise and now it is dead, that is not a good sign that you can do something yourself to fix the unit. I am hoping that the printer is less than 1 year old because then it should still be under warrantly.
Here is the website address to contact HP for support to get the ball rolling http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/contacthp?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&docname=c01427750&product=3571753
If it's been over a year since you had the printer, I am afraid the unit is going to have to be replaced.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

A partial reset will return user settings to factory defaults. On some models, language and country/region settings are also reset. Perform a partial reset of the product by following the instructions below.
* Unplug the power cord from the unit.
* Reconnect the power cord into the unit.
* When the lights begin to flash, press and hold the On/Resume and Paper Size buttons.
* When only the On/Resume light is flashing, release the buttons.
* When the On/Resume light is steady, the reset is complete.
I had a persistant grinding noise about 30 seconds after the printer finished printing. It's been going on about 2 months. I did one thing which seemed to work. So try opening the cover on the back of the machine by lifting upward on the gray lever in the middle of the back of the machine. Leave this cover open during and after printing. The grinding noise went away.
