Question about SanDisk Sansa Clip MP3 Player

1 Answer

Half of my space is taken up by nothing.

I deleted all the files from my 2g SanClip, installed the driver update and re-formatted, but I can't clear my SanClip.
The clip says it's empty, my media player says there are no items on the device, but when I put it in the media player to sync, all I have is 743 mb-- less than half of the space- remaining. What do I do?!?!?!

I figured it out. I reformatted the device itself, it seems to be working OK now.

Help!

Three possibilities:
1) your music service subscription expired (or the license on your songs expired) - solution: update them
2) You switched from msd to mtp mode - solution: switch to AUTO
3) Your DB has been corrupt - solution: update the firmware from the manufacturer's website, or format the player - see my help file on this under my profile

Says drive is full with nothing on it.

the driver may need to reinstalled, usually when it said disk space is full is because it is reading it, but the driver is not workng properly or

If you're able to see the drive under your my computers, you should be able to right-click it and click format. That should clear up all the space on the drive, even though there is nothing on there.

Philips SA4010 1 gig really only half a gig!

1 Gb player should have around 894Mb or more of free space. The rest is taken up by the directory and firmware files.

Try running the Device Manager software on the product CD and use the repair option.

The sansa c140 1gb mp3 device displays a message "no space for DB please delete more than 4.0MB" when I start it. I tried to format using WinXP but it couldnt be formatted. I tried the firmware updater...

If you are trying to format the device thru Windows Media Player, try just thru My Computer. My Computer>Device Name, right click and select format. Otherwise you may need to change the mode on the device. Settings>Mode or USB. Please add to the question, if you need more help. Best of Luck.
