I can't get my pc to boot up.

I had a malware problem on my computer. It had several trojans and spyware on it. To get this particular trogan off was a big ordeal so I decided to just restore it. I tried many times to go back to several dates and it wouldn't work. My son finally was able to get it to go all the way to the end and then this message came up. Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt. system32hall.dll. Please reinstall a copy of the above file. I tried to access the boot settings by pressing F10 and the bios settings by pressing F2. Then it would say to boot press any key and I would but the pc would always take me back to the first message about installing a copy of the windows file. I tried to boot with the cd in and out. I'm at a loss as to what to do now. Can you help me? This computer is a W3653 Emachines. I had to say something else in the product space because the website said that the W3653 wasn't a valid product. Thankyou so much for your help.........

I had a similar problem; although, I do not remember the exact file name (it was however *.dll). I ended up re-instaling operating system. If you can get into safe mode you could save your personal files before reinstall.

Have you tried to boot to the cd and entering the Recovery Console? If you can get into the Recovery Console, you should then run chkdsk /r . That will check the file structure and replace the necessary files.
Please let me know if that helps.

It may help to open the case up and pull the CMOS battery. Then try again to enter setup to config the boot options.

How do I get something off my computer called Spyware Clear?

Spyware Clear purports itself as being an anti-spyware program. As delivered (usually via 3rd party programs you may have downloaded) it appears to only detect unwanted spyware and requires a paid subscription to remove it. Several anti-Malware programs have also reported Spyware Clear as being malware itself and harboring other trojan software. Google for Spyware Clear to find instructions on how to remove it.

My PC is showing updater.exe problem while everytime it boots

A process named update.exe appears to be part of several different programs. So many malware named itself update.exe.

***Any malware can be named anything - so you should check where the files of the running processes are located on your disk. If a "non-Microsoft" .exe file is located in the C:\Windows or C:\Windows\System32 folder, then there is a high risk for a virus, spyware, trojan or worm infection! Check it out!

I think you should run Anti malware software to scan your system.......

What is the difference between malware and virus?

Difference between the two terms is their coverage as all viruses are malwares but not all malwares are viruses. Trojans, worms, keyloggers, and many others, while not viruses, are also categorized as malware.

What you have is a big-time clue that your system has been infected by a virus/Trojan horse
Rootkit/Spyware/Worm/Malware of some type.
The first step in tuning up a computer is ridding it of all Malware/Spyware Infection(s). The last
time someone asked me to tune up a computer like yours, my first Malware scan of the
system located 212 viruses.

Free Anti-virus software: www.download.com

Pick (a) Avast! or (b) AVG free anti-virus, and start your tune-up with a deep system scan.

Spyware Protection screens keep popping up; saying that the computer is infected with different Trogans and viruses....and also requesting that you activate Spyware Protection to protect your computer. ...

Take note of the exact message you are getting and, preferably on a different computer, enter that message in a search window inside of quotes. The message you are getting is FROM the Trojan; you are already infected and you will need instructions on the removal. Entering the precise message will most likely identify the specific Trojan you have. Worst case, you may have to format your hard drive and re-install the operating system.

I cannot boot my vgc-rc310g after removing trogan horse (2ea)

Your laptop still has a virus. From your description, you seem computer savy. What u need to do is you need to boot your system with UBCD ( can be downloaded at www.UBCD4win.com) and search for files with the extension as .exe and delete the ones that look like folders.

then you reboot and try and log into your system. Next, download a software called Combofix. You google it out and get a download. run that to remove the remaining viruses and fix your regsitry.
