WINE COOLER NOISE

Hi

I have a Eurolec BWC 600SS wine cooler that is just over a year old.It has been working fine and still is except that every time the small fan at the back comes on now a loud whirring noise occurs. Then when the fan stops so does the noise. The wine cooler works fine but this noise is so annoying i have switched it off. Have you any ideas.Thank You

Thanks it appears the compressor is making the noise.

When the fan comes on so does the compressor, hold the fan with a rag and see which one is making the noise-mike

can you please give me a fixya not a helpful so you don't mess up my expert rating?thanks-mike

it's most likely just vibrating, most of the time you can place a shim under it to stop the noise, that;s all there is to it,if that does not work then a comp.pistons are going bad and you can't do anything about it unless you know how to replace one-mike

Compressor seems bad

HI sally.well wine coolers r not rocket science.your local engineer should be able to at least diagnose the problem...lets c if u can do it ok?(still getting power )u mean light comes on or u mean it runs but dont get cold?well haier is not the best but if it's done 7 years is not bad:).ok...1-check if it makes any noise or is completely quiet.if no sound feel the motor (compressor).hot or cold.if cold it could be the thermostat or motor.if hot running or not it could be refrigerant or motor.needs visual.hope this helps.ALI

Fridge makes a fairly loud popping noise at intermittent intervals...otherwise works fine and maintains wine temp as set....makes this noise approx 10-15 times a day....unable to determine any set pattern...

What you are hearing is the new refrigerant going through the system. The old Freon 12 did not make that noise but the new stuff does. Nothing to worry about, it is normal. Thank you for using Fix ya and I hope you found this info helpful.

I have the Marvel 70 bottle wine cooler and it is making loud whining noise like if you put a stick in the wheel of spinning bike spokes when it is cooling down sometimes. it does not seem to be the fan...

I believe the 6SBAR has an evaporator fan located behind the evaporator plate ( the cooling plate) inside the unit. They had some issues with the bearings in those fans failing and will sound like a small jet engine sometimes (high pitched whine). When you hear the noise, open the door and if the noise level changes (either gets louder or goes away) then it is the evaporator fan. If your noise is coming from the compressor area and does not change when you open the door, it is most likely the condenser fan blade is loose. The evaporator fan looks like a small computer cooling fan and is located near the bottom center of the evaporator plate (out of site). The factory sells a replacement kit with a much better fan and new power supply. You can reach them at 800-223-3900. Good-luck.

Wine cooler makes noise and runs hot

The price looks fine for my area its about a 3 hour job done properly. you should consider a new wine cooler and cut your losses because if their only replacing the compressor they should be replacing the cap tube and liquid drier if the cap tube is not replaced could be a waste of money
