Question about HP DeskJet 920c InkJet Printer

1 Answer

The color ink in my hp deskjet 920c won't work

I have 2 hp deskjet 920c printers in the same office, No 1 and No. 2. When we run out of color ink in one of the printers we get the other's color ink and replace it. But printer No. 2, of the printers, seams to be too delicate and refuses to work with the No. 1 used color ink cartridge. No. 1 printer works with any used ink cartridge. No. 2 works perfect with any new ink artridge. (?)

Try cleaning the contacts (bronze like) with dry cloth both the cartridge and the cartridge holder most of the times there exist some liquid forms on both areas. since you frequently remove the cartridges; their might be a broken part on the cartridge holder. the broken part, use, is to make sure the cartridge is in absolute contact with the cartridge holder's. the size the said broken part is 2 mm in all sides. so small that it has a big dnt even recognize.

Does the hp deskjet 920c inkjet printer need to have ink in both cartridges in order to work?

yes hp was very clever in this if one cartridge is empty then it will not print as they run in path. i think its so you have to replace them more often so hp gets more money but whats new.

HP 920c does not print color. I have replaced inks - color & black. When I switch mode to B&W only, all images and text prints. When i switch back to color, only the B&W stuff prints

Try reseating the color cartridge and cofirming that the blue/green tape was completely removed from the back and bottom of the cartridge. Run a head cleaning and if that doesnt correct it then you may have a bad ink cartridge. It is possible that the printer is bad but I find that unlikely.

My printer could not print

Try installing the color cartridge. Some printers won't work if one of the cartridges is empty or defective.

Amber light!

Clean the contacts in the cartridge holder (Iso alcohol & cotton swab work well).

I've just installed my HP deskjet 920c printer, but the amber light seems to not stop blinking. I've installed only the black ink (c6615d) 'cause I have no use for the color ink.

You can't operate the printer without the color cartridge, even if you don't need it. You can always keep an empty one in, but you must have both in.

some printers share the ink from color to black but you can select if you wants to use only black just go to printer than properies than select to use only black but you probably have to remove the empty color one

Wont print

Hi, yes I have had problems with these HP printers B4 and it was in fact the INK... strange as it may seem, Ya gota have them "Full" as it were. I have "Fooled" it sometimes by removing the cartridge(s) and powering on & of re-inserting them. But eventually always ended up paying thru the nose for the cartridges. I saved a bit by using refilled ones, but I now use printers that have cheap single color ones, eg: Canon i550
