1. Click "Start | All Programs | TOSHIBA | Utilities | HWSetup" to open the laptop's original equipment manufacturer, or OEM, system configuration software.
2. Click "General," then "Default" to reset the BIOS settings to their original state.
3. Click "Apply," then "OK."
Restore BIOS Settings at Startup 1. Restart or power on the Toshiba. Quickly press "F2" to access the boot screen. If you miss the boot screen and the computer continues to start Windows, shut down and try again.
2. Press "F9" to load the BIOS setup defaults on the laptop. Use the directional pad to select "Yes" and then press "Enter."
3. Go to the "Exit" tab. Select "Exit Saving Changes." Choose "Yes." Press "Enter" to quit.
There are two ways out of this; either find the password or take it to a Toshiba dealer who can reset it for you. Sorry but I am not allowed to divulge the method as I am associated with Toshiba.
