Ethernet connexion IP address does not update automatically
When I first received the credit card terminal machine, I plugged the ethernet cable to the modem/router and then the AC cord to the outlet as instructed, since I could not get connected, I changed the IP address to the one numbered for my location, now my internet service company reassigned me another IP address but the machine remains powering on with the old IP info even if I unplugged it from everything, it does not accept the new one, how can I reset or unblock this old IP address without resetting the rest of the programmed info ? please help !!!

Re: ethernet connexion IP address does not update...
Press the purple more key on the left of screen then scroll down to other setup then go to comm then keep pressing next untill you see ip address then press edit, put in correct ip address, press exit and ok for save changes. If password is needed try 0000 then enter or
1 alpha alpha 66831 which would be Z66831 then enter

im thinking your Credit processor IP settings have changed or your ternminal for some reason is not seing your processor IP settings and port. Calll your processor, and maybe you will need set the right IP address manually to your machine or they might ask you to redownload the application. Call (775) 358-2922 ask for Randy and maybe we can help you. Thanks
Ok the following instructions will help you reset the ip address of your printer however you must use the origina driver cd to do this. Follow the instructions below if you have no print server involved with this network. If you do use a print server let me know ok?
check your cable if it is connect to a modem or DSL/ADSL router then it must be straight cable;for more information regarding the cabling go to http://www.makeitsimple.com/how-to/dyi_crossover.htm;usually ip address and DNS address is assigned automatically by the modem or DSL router.so set your network connection to obtained ip address and DNS address automatically untill and an unless you are given the ip address and DNS address to be configured manually. check your ethernet card is working by pinging to 127.0.0.1;hope it sloves your problem
To determine if the router or the Ethernet switch is faulty.
Disconnect the Ether switch and connect the computer to the router and see if it connects to the Internet.
Next if you have a couple of computers, connect them to the Ether switch and see if the computers can communicate with each other. You may need to configure the LAN cards with a fix IP address (say 192.168.0.XX each computer must have a different XX number). Remember to change the TCP/IP configuration back to Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically.
If these test are OK then the problem is the connection or route configuration. You do not need a crossover cable between the router and switch.
Get back to me with the results of the tests then I can advise you what to do next.
When the SurfBoard modem is powered up and connects to the internet on the WAN interface, it automatically gets an IP address from your ISP. When another machine is powered up and is connected to the modem via a USB cable, it is automatically using the WAN IP address to communicate with the world. If it is connected via the Ethernet connection, the modem automatically issues it its own IP address for use on the internal network via DHCP. The modem's internal Ethernet connection is 192.168.0.1. The next machine powered on will normally get an IP address of 192.168.0.2.
make sure the cable is in the correct place. (8 ping plug-little bigger that the phone plug.)
1). start>>control panel>>system>device manager.
make sure there is not "red X" or yellow!" ont he network card.
if that is OK. right click on "my network place" on the desktop>>local area connection>> right click on properties again.
you will see the network card name, and select TCP/IP under the " This connection use the following item" box. Click on properties.
make sure the " Obtain the IP address automatically and the "Obtain DNS address automatically" are check.
shunt down the computer
wait 2 minutes, restart the machine.
open the Internet Browser after the machine finished loading.

Try this, press F2 & F4 together you should be on GO VARIABLES, enter password 1 alpha alpha 66831 use the down arrow locate RAM FILES, CLEAR ALL GROUPS, CONFIRM, FLASH FILES, CLEAR ALL GROUPS, CONFIRM, then DEFRAG, ALL GROUPS, CONFIRM
Plug in your DSL or cable line (the one you are using) locate the DOWNLOAD, do a FULL
this should pickup your new IP address and make sure you are on COMM SERVER not on DIAL
(dial is only for analog phone line)
